Excuse Me, My Lighter Has Run Away…
There he stood, arrogant as always, flicking the lighter he always carried. His steel blue eyes gazed out at the sunny spring day as he thought about how he was going to pass his chemistry exam. Escaping his notice, one Kitty Pryde stood several feet behind him, her keen, brilliant mind thinking as she watched him.

The sound was, as everyone said, irritating. But it was his comfort mechanism. When he felt any extreme emotion, he played with the lighter. Kitty smirked, her plan was done with the formulating stage. Now, she had to put it into action.
Without hesitation, she ran right up to him, and snatched it right from his hand. He spun around to see a very smug Kitty holding his lighter. Her lips in an unusual smirk.
"Alright, Pryde. Give me back my lighter." he said.
"No, I don't feel like it, St. John Allerdyce." Kitty answered.
"Kitten, I told you not to call me that. My name's Pyro. Now give back the damn lighter." Pyro snapped.
Kitty chuckled as he ran his fingers through his short dirty-blond hair, irritation in his blue eyes. She knew that she had a chance of nearly getting burned, but that was a little more than impossible. She could phase right through him, and she knew that he couldn't hurt what he couldn't touch.
"You'll have to catch me then, Firefly." Kitty chuckled impishly.
"Kitten!" Pyro growled.
Then it started. She phased right through the door and into the hallway, so, naturally, he followed, after opening the door. The chase ensued for most of the day, and it took them both all over the school grounds.
He was so close to catching her when he ran right into Logan, which resulted in her getting away. Apparently, John hadn't finished a test, and Logan wanted him to, but he didn't.
"What's the hurry, kid? You've got a test to finish." Logan said.
"I can't." was John's answer.
"Well you're going to! Why can't you?" Logan asked.
"Well, I really need to study for my chemistry test. Now, excuse me, my lighter has run away, and I really have to go catch it." John said.
