Draco smirked as he finally succeeded in sneaking into Dumbledore's office. He looked up with unabashed greed at the Sword of Gryffindor.
"A sword that can kill anything, and it's mine. Dumbledore won't stand a chance." he murmured.
He took it down from the wall and, careful not to touch the edge, ran his finger possessively along the engraved runes.
It was only when his fingertip started to burn that he realized his fatal mistake. Basilisk venom is corrosive; the merest touch from the blade is fatal.
Two minutes later Draco Malfoy, scion of the House of Malfoy, lay dead.
