Love and War

The battle has just begun for Ichigo and Renji when they realize they have feelings for one another during a battle. After being confronted by Aizen, Renji has been given the job to kill Ichigo once and for all, but Renji can't go through with it, why? Because he can't kill the one he loves. Now Renji and Ichigo must find a way to be together without facing the consequences.

"Why can't I stop thinking about that bastard.?" Renji mumbled to himself as he got into bed after a 2 hour meeting with Aizen in the training room. Well, it was longer than 2 hours for Renji because Aizen pulled him aside after the meeting to give him a secret mission.

Renji closed his eyes and sighed heavily, remembering the exact words Aizen spoke to him...

~"I want you to kill Ichigo Kurosaki." Aizen said plainly as he sat down in his chair and looked at Renji. "I'm tired of him interfering with my plans to take over the human world."

Renji felt his heart stop for a moment and he clenched his hands slightly, "Can't Toshiro do it? I have the next shift to guard the prisoners for the week." He said just as plainly." He left his face expressionless as he looked back at Aizen.

"I've already consulted that with Yachiru and she said she would gladly take your place for the week." Aizen said as he stood up and walked over to Renji, standing next to him as he said in a cold voice. "I want Ichigo dead. If you fail me, you will die." He then left the room, leaving Renji alone.~

Renji sat up in his bed and rubbed his shoulder a bit, groaning softly as he took off his shirt. His shoulder was badly bruised from the fight he had with Ichigo 2 days ago. He would've won too if Rukia hadn't stepped in and sntached Ichigo back to the human world.

Renji looked over at his clock, it was 3:40pm, he could go down to soul society to walk around and see what was going on or just stay in bed and do nothing. He decided he wanted to go walk around for a bit then go to bed, seeing how he had to wake up early to begin the horrible mission Aizen has given him. Renji stood and put on a clean shirt, then walked out of his room.

As he entered soul society he felt a little strange, like someone he knew was around the same area he was in. Renji looked around as he continued to walk, stopping at the tree he use to sleep in when we has a child. He leaned against the bark of the tree and sighed heavily, muttering softly, "Why him? Of all people, why did it have to be Ichigo.." He shook his head and looked back at the village then froze, a few blocks down was Ichigo and Rukia, talking to a merchant about buying something. Renji's heart began to beat fast and he could feel his face getting hot, from anger and surprise that his secret lover was back after the big battle they had.

Before Renji could make a quick escape, Ichigo looked up from the bag Rukia was holding and spotted Renji, a small smile appeared on his lips as he muttered something to Rukia. And before Renji could do anything, Ichigo was running up to him.
