for the Secret Santa for gryffindorprincess.
Albus Dumbledore is the defeater of Grindelwald, and known to the world as the most eligible bachelor. It therefore came as a surprise when Minerva McGonagall strode into their living room and saw that he was covered in milk and cereal, and Amelia Dumbledore, their daughter was nowhere to be seen.
Albus and Minerva had revealed the truth about their relationship right after Voldemort was vanquished. Needless to say, most people were surprised, though Minerva distinctly saw Harry collecting some money from Hermione and Ron. Amelia was conceived soon after, in the throes of passion that had occurred that very night.
Minerva smirked as she saw her husband trying to pull out his wand from his sodden robes. She bit her lip to hold in her laughter as she saw Amelia crawl out from behind the sofa, very dry and gurgling happily.
"Albus?" she called out, making her way towards him, careful not to dirty her robes.
"Don't you dare laugh Minerva," he growled, struggling to get his wand out.
Minerva laughed, ignoring him and the glare that he sent her way, and promptly went to seat beside Amelia, who was on the floor giggling at the sight of her very wet and dirty father. Minerva reached over to gather Amelia in her arms, before waving her wand at the bowl of cereal, causing it to float over to the duo. Expertly, she maneuvered the spoon into Amelia's mouth, without causing a drop of it to fall on her person.
By that time, Albus had already managed to clean himself up, and he strode over to them, a small pout on his face.
"How did you ever manage to feed her so quickly?" he asked Minerva, looking curiously over her shoulder at the now slumbering Amelia.
Minerva shrugged, not replying, before carrying Amelia to her crib.
As such was the day of the Dumbledore family, the tears and pain of the war left behind, but never forgotten.
