Chapter 1: Prologue

Author's Note: Hello ladies and gents, this is my first fanfic. I've had this story in my head for a really long time and I just never put my ideas in writing. Alot of the songs in this story are by my favorite bands, so I will leave song names at the end of every chapter. Any constructive criticism is appreciated, it's not gonna be perfect but I hope you enjoy otherwise! Just an FYI this story will have lots of drug use and lemons so please keep it 18+ for those reading.

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha. Lol

Kagome sighed tossing a ball of paper into the trash bin. The teenager's palms were moist with sweat and her chest felt tight. Grabbing a bottle of water, she downed a white pill and hoped to settle her uneasiness. "Ugh! Why can't I get this right!?"

She was ready to burn the next blank sheet of paper.

The end of the year culture festival at Shikon High School was coming up, and Ms. Kaede had chosen her to perform along with other seniors.

She pressed her fingers along the delicate piano keys.

"If I tell you,

will you listen?

Will you stay?

Will you be here forever?

Never go away.."

Kagome grabbed her pencil and jotted down additional words and ideas. The melody was perfect, but she felt her lyrics were sub-par. Akito Higurashi, her father, was a huge influence in her love for music. Akito bought Kagome her first piano at age twelve, becoming a therapy throughout her life. "I miss you, dad." She thought finally feeling the wave of calm reach her body.

"Damn, its getting late." Kagome reached into her pocket, pulled out her cell phone, and shot her boyfriend a text message. She listened to each ring feeling nervous. Senior year was almost over, they both accepted their college offers- everything was falling into place... but they had an argument, Inuyasha was feeling neglected. Kagome had music practice and final exams to study for. He wanted to see more of her, but she didn't have the time to give him.

Tonight would be different.

Kagome closed her notebook and stood from her desk.

The Tashio family lived in a beautiful calm subdivision. The drive to Inuyasha's house was filled with extravagant landscapes, new homes, and expensive cars. The entrance of their home was surrounded by a silver gate protecting a scene out of a painting. Roses lined the stone pathway leading to a fountain urging guests to the entrance of the house. Kagome touched the little button that appeared on the computer screen attached to the gate, a woman answered.

"Welcome back, Miss Kagome." She greeted.

"Thanks, Lisa. Can you do me a favor and don't tell Inuyasha I'm here? I want it to be a surprise." She answered back.

"Sure, Ms. Kagome. Um... I'll let you in now." She hesitated.

"Weird lady.." Kagome muttered as she climbed up the stone steps. She reached for the handle on the large wooden door. Kagome peeked through the foyer making sure Inuyasha's brother, Sesshomaru, was out of sight. He normally hung out in the foyer reading in his father's favorite chair. Kagome relaxed noting an empty house as she walked to the staircase.

Kagome reached the top landing and eased her way down the hall. Inuyasha's room was the last one on the right. She walked past five doors before reaching his door. The house was large and easy to get lost in. Kagome opened the door, her eyes widened. The teenager's world stopped. She couldn't scream.

Kagome's body froze. Inuyasha was fully naked except for the red bedsheets entertwining him and her twin sister together. Kikyo was also naked laying on her back, her face flushed as she tried to meet his thrusts, her onyx locks spilled across the silk sheets. Hisses of ecstasy filled the room drowning Kagome. "I-Inuyasha?.."

Inuyasha's ears perked up. His face paled as amber eyes met grey.

"Oh my god! K-kagome!" Kikyo stammered as she pushed herself away from Inuyasha and covered her body under the sheets.

"Save it." Kagome looked at the man she loved, tears spilling slowly from her eyes. "Why Inuyasha?..." She asked feeling her voice break.

"Kagome, please..I wasn't thinking..I mean..FUCK! Me and Kikyo we just..I don't know..we clicked..and you and I have been going our separate ways for awhile now.." The hanyou sighed deeply. What could he say to make it better?

Kagome ran a hand through her raven locks. "I fucking trusted you, Inuyasha! I..I just can't anymore with you. I could forgive so much, but this?.." Kagome shook her head attempting to fight back more tears. She tore the promise ring off her finger and threw it in his direction. "You can have this back." The ring landed on the bed with a soft thud. "It means nothing to me anymore."

Inuyasha scooped it up with a clawed finger and stared down at the golden band. He had given Kagome the ring during their junior year of highschool. The hanyou shook with hurt. "Kagome..." He whispered. "It wasn't supposed to go this far. Kami, I'm so s-sorry." InuYasha reached out and tried to grab her wrist. "Kagome...please" His eyes pleaded, but it wasn't enough. The lies, the betrayal, the wasted time. "Don't you fucking touch me!" She snatched her wrist out of his grasp and then slapped him across the face, the force of blow turning his head away.

Kagome quickly turned away, staggering out the door. Her vision was blurred as she blindly fled from the house. She had to get away from him, from her, from them, forever.
