Chapter 1
Warning: This story is very weird and I'm not too sure why I kept on writing it…please review! And this chapter is very short because it's kind of like an Introduction and a taster for people to see if they like the way I write.
East High was what you'd call normal really. You had your jocks and your cheerleaders, your Brainiacs and the Skater Dudes, the Drama freaks and the Freaks and the popular kids that were really just popular for no reason. The groups never socialised or acknowledged each other.
Until Gabriella Montez came to the school. She was extremely clever, and was a brainiac, but she had met Troy Bolton on holiday at New Year, and then when she was transferred to East High, they talked regularly. This was unheard of at East High before, a Brainiac and a Jock? Troy was the playmaker of the basketball team, and Gabriella was the saviour of the Brainiacs. Was this RIGHT?
But then Kelsi Nielson wrote a musical that changed the "normal" in the school; that changed East High.
Gabriella and Troy got the lead roles in this musical, much to the disappointment of Sharpay and Ryan Evans. Over the rehearsals, Troy and Ryan became great friends (odd, thought the school) because a Jock and a Drama Geek would never usually talk. At all. Sharpay and Gabriella became friends. That was good enough for now.
Our story starts here, on opening night of the winter school musical, Twinkle Towne.
All four of them were warming up in Ryan's changing room. The five minute call boomed from the speakers, and so Sharpay and Gabriella rushed off to prepare, wishing the guys to "Break a Leg" as they swept from the room.
"Are you nervous?" Ryan asked Troy.
"No." Troy said... "Well…yes I am." Troy looked down at his feet.
"It's natural," Ryan smiled, "Trust me. Even if you ARE an amazing basketball player, this is different. You're bound to be nervous!"
"Are you nervous then?" Troy asked.
"Me? No." Ryan replied, "I've been in 17 school productions, I was nervous for like….the first 12…now it's just comes naturally to me."
"How long-"Troy started but he was cut off by Ms Darbus calling for places.
"Speak to you later, Troy" Ryan said. Troy nodded and they both ran to opposite sides of the stage.
The music began, the curtains opened to loud applause. Troy smiled at Ryan, who smiled back. This was it!
