Love. It was a prospect that intrigued, excited, intimidated and even frightened Skully. The word in itself had a special and unique ring to it, a daunting word that could change your life for the best or the worst; an enchanting and life-altering word that could grant your wildest dreams and wishes or crush them into smithereens, make the promises and possibilities in your life mean and be worth something or drain and eliminate their value in an instant. It was a daring mystery just waiting to be solved. And one day, the smitten green parrot vowed, he would confess his abounding and infinite love to the pink-feathered female parrot who had enchanted, enthralled, captivated and enraptured him. The fact that she was the princess of Skybird Island had nothing to do with it. In fact, her prestigious position meant nothing to him besides the fact that she was an amazing leader. His love for her went beyond her beauty, fairness, and kindness; it was driven by everything she was to him, her very spirit. Their bond, even before he realized his feelings for her, had always been authentic, pure, and genuine; there was nothing artificial or shallow about it. He was always there for her when she needed him, and she always did the same thing for him. Oh, how he hoped she returned his feelings! Even if she didn't feel the same way about him, he would have to tell her how he felt sooner or later. It was no longer a desire to admit his love to Princess Winger. It had become a necessity! He absolutely had to get it off his chest, or it was sure to drive him crazy! Oh, how he hoped she loved him back!
Soon, Skully thought. Soon enough, I will tell her how I truly feel.
For now, however, all the green parrot could do was carry on with life and dream of a future with Princess Winger.
