Mikan was on her bedroom floor, crying her eyes out. She just found out, her grandfather died earlier that morning. She didn't go to class, and everybody was getting really worried.
Class started and Narumi entered the room, and he did it like a NORMAL human being! "Good morning class, I have something very important to tell you regarding one of your classmates. Now you all are probably wondering why Mikan isn't here today right?" he calmly replied. The class nodded and waited for him to continue, "Well earlier this morning, she was informed that her grandfather has passed away." He sadly replied.
The class gasped in total shock at what they had just heard. "So she will not be attending classes for a while. I just wanted to inform you of the entire situation, since you are all close friends with her." He finished. Then he left the room. The class was in complete silence; and they were all dumbfounded at what they were just told.
Natsume got up from his seat, and left the room in the direction of his girlfriend's room. When he got to her room, which was right next door to his, he knocked on her door, "Mikan, it's me." He said.
He heard some shuffling, and then the door opened. He saw his girlfriend and was shocked at her appearance, she was pale and looked detached and empty, her eyes were puffy red and swollen from crying, her pajamas were disheveled, her hair was a wreck, and she looked completely shut off from the world.
"Hey Natsume." She emotionlessly replied. Then she let him in, he walked in and she shut the door. He went over to her, and pulled her into his arms. She was dumbfounded, and then began to tear up, "Everything is going to be okay. I'm here." He softly whispered to her. She clung to him for dear life, and began to cry her already swollen eyes out. He held onto her, and gently began rubbing her back. After a while, Mikan's cries turned into soft sobs. He whispered comforting words to her, while still gently rubbing her back. "Thank you Natsume." She whispered quietly. He nodded, "Are you feeling a little bit better now?" he gently asked as her pulled her with him onto the couch.
She slowly nodded, "Yeah, I'll be fine as long as you're here." She softly replied as she cuddled into Natsume's shoulder. He smiled and pulled her closer, "I'll always be here, as long as you want me to be." He softly replied. She sighed, and closed her eyes, "Thank you." She softly replied. "Anything for you." He answered.
Soon after that Mikan drifted to sleep, Natsume smiled and fell asleep a few minutes later. Both were asleep, content and feeling safe in the embrace of each other, both of them dreaming about the other and how happy they were. Nothing could get in the way of their love, and Mikan knew that as long as he was here, as long as he held her like this, everything would be okay.
