"That blue sky. Where have I seen it before?"
"Shadow stop daydreaming!" Rouge's voice sounded over the earpeice in his ear.
"Whatever. Rouge do you see anyone further ahead?" He asked.
There was a pause before the bat girl replied. "Coast is clear. "
"Perfect," Shadow made a sound that almost resembled a purr.
He ran down the spiralling mountin side, the wind brushing his quills and the colours going a blinding speed around him.
"Shadow!"
Shadow looked ahead to see four robot machines, waiting for him.
A smirk appeared on his face and he got his pistol which;coincidencely was named Maria; and shot them, while jumping ontop of them, disintegrating them.
"That was easy," shadow prided himself, who continued.
Then the building loomed up ahead of him. Four pillars stood in front of him, each on the side of the compass, north, south, east and west. They shone with an unearthly glow. And in between those pillars stood a large gothic building with pointed tips and dripping with gold.
"I see Black Doom's style is the same as ever ." Rouge complained.
Shadow rolled his crimson eyes, he personally found it fitting.
It was pretty easy to infiltrate the castle, seeing the guards were no where to be seen. In fact, as Shadow went deeper into the castle, found that one was to be seen.
Shadow stopped and Rouge swooped down, landing beside Shadow. She had her hands on her hips and she sniffed dismisavley.
"Where is everyone?" She voiced his own inquiries.
"No idea. But I have a feeling someone's in here using Chaos Emeralds. I can feel it pulsing"
"Shadow, I'm not sure this is a good idea.." Rouge fretted, looking left and right.
"Fine then. You stay out here while I go look," shadow said, reaching for the doorknob with a gloved hand.
Before he reached it a hand touched his shoulders.
"Be careful," Rouge whispered.
Shadow nodded and turned the door open, and silently slid in.
There was a huge black table in the middle of the room, and a machine which was pulsating electricity made by the Chaos Emeralds. A figure which resembled Black Doom in his octopus state was floating in the air Above it.
"And then, my dear Dennis, I will activate The Machine, and then I will own a new world. "
A mouse stood beside him, large ears flickering every so often.
"I smell something," he said.
Shadow stiffened. The mouse could smell him.
Black Doom turned, his three eyes locked on where shadow was. Black doom changed his figure. He was no draped in a black and gold cape and a helmet covering his face. Three eyes shine from the shadows.
He heled up an arm and shadows produced out of them. They wrapped around Shadow's neck, and Shadow floated to the demon.
"Well, well, well. Isn't it my own flesh and blood, Shadow The Hedgehog," Black Doom said.
Shadows eyes heled hearted. His lungs were screaming for air as the dark trendies licked against his skin, leaving deep wounds. Blood dropped on the floor.
"Oh my dear son, what have I done to acquire your presence?"
"Emeralds," Shadow managed to choke out.
Black Doom laughed. "You want my Chaos Emeralds? What possible use do you need them for hmm?"
Shadow ignored the question and reached behind him, producing his gun. He pressed the trigger and aimed it at Black doom.
"I can always shoot," Shadow whispered.
"Oh and what will you accomplish? "
"More then you can think of," Shadow snarled. He shot and then all of a sudden Black Doom dissapered, but the mouse was still there. The bullet whistles into the machine and there was a bright blast of Chaos Energy.
"Shadow, did you find anything?" Rouge asked, opening the door, expecting to see her red and black partner, searching the room, or maybe confronted with an evil master mind who thought he could over take the world. But what she was faced with, was an empty room.
