"Without another half", (trial chapter)
Narrative POV
Sora awoke to find himself alone in the large chamber in which he and his sister slept. The bed beside him was cold. The drapes around the window fluttering from the wind blowing through the room. Processing what happened he leapt from the bed ran to the window over the marble shiny floor. Only to be met with disappointment. And Shiro, missing…
When the realisation that his sister was missing dawned. He fell to his knees, slumping on the floor. Refusing to believe it. Stephanie, who was just coming to the room to call them for an important meeting, heard the racket and sprinted the rest of the way to the chamber. Upon entry she saw Sora having a mental breakdown and Shiro nowhere to be seen. She walked over to Sora, who still hadn't noticed her entry.
Steph's POV
Sora, on the floor. With no Shiro to be seen. I stride over to him, and shake his shoulders trying to get him to snap out of it. His face turned towards me, only then did I see his face was like looking at a lost child. Missing his mother in the market. His eyes seemed to see right through me to the bed that was empty. "Sora, listen to me, what happened?" I ask urgently. No answer. "Sora, Sora! Are you even listening to me?!" I say exasperated. After ten minutes of my cries reaching deaf ears he came to. Looking at me like I murdered his cat.
"Steph, where is she?" he said. Well, more like commanded.
"I don't know, I thought you would know" I replied
"If I knew I wouldn't be asking you would i?" he said regaining his composure. But he was still obviously uncomfortable. Geez, if he was like this. I can only imagine what's happening to Shiro right now.
"Well then let's go find her." I say. Thinking it was a good idea. Until, he started glaring at me as if it was me who lost Shiro in the first place.
"Steph" he said with his face in his hand. "Are you really so stupid? First we need to see if Shiro left anything, any clues at all leading to where she might be, meanwhile I need you to get the staff to check the whole palace, then if she isn't there, call a search throughout Elkia." He said. After which he started to inspect the room.
Sora's POV
There's no way she left without leaving something, its not something she would do. But on the other hand, if she did leave nothing and she is not found in Elkia. We can assume that she was either taken, or left the city. The second option does not however seem very likely due to the fact that when separated she reacts worse than I do. I spot her phone left on the floor beside the bed. Turning it on, I check her to-do list. One more seemed to be there after last time. Entered at 23:05 last night. " " next to the date, there was nothing written. Only… Blank. This could possibly decipher to be that she is in trouble. Perhaps with the Eastern Federation, and is asking for help in advance. Or in the very likely circumstances that she left or was taken before she could complete it. But, Shiro never goes anywhere without her phone. Wait, I realise that perhaps she did what I did with Zurami. She may have entered a game with someone, betting herself perhaps. And losing. Meaning that she could have lost. No, Shiro couldn't have lost. Blank never loses…
