Notes: Yo I'm writing this while I'm playing Dual Destinies, and even still I've only just started the fourth case. So I haven't seen Miles yet (ugh) and I don't even know if they explained why he started wearing glasses or whatever. Obviously this is AU then because of this, and I just wanted something fluffy involving Mitsumayo and this imagine your otp prompts prompt made me happy. See 'end' for prompt. I suggest you read through before reading the prompt but whatever.
Glasses were not part of his usual outfit. They weren't uncomfortable, persay, but they certainly weren't all that comforting either.
He'd needed glasses since… well, always, really. But, while Miles only needed them to read while he was a child (they made him look like his father, he used to think), now he'd needed them all the time.
Though, von Karma advised against them – why, Miles still wasn't sure, but he'd always worn contacts during trials, so he'd be able to see properly for the time needed.
He'd only ever wear his glasses at home, where there was no one to see him.
It wasn't that he was embarrassed; actually, it was that he was embarrassed. He refused to be seen with them in public, or by anyone, actually, he wouldn't even wear them when he was in his office – alone.
So he'd wear them around the house; no one would ever see him – he never really had any visitors, other than Wright.
Until Maya moved in.
They'd been dating about 6 months when Maya moved in. Miles had managed to hide his wearing glasses from Maya for all of around 8, when she finally caught him.
He'd thought he was alone, as Maya had told him that she was going to visit Wright's office. (Which was more of his daughter's office, rather than his, but he never saw a point in correcting her.) He took that as his opportunity to finish some paperwork from his last trial.
He didn't even notice when Maya slipped in through their front door a little over an hour and a half later.
He didn't notice her walking into his study.
He didn't notice her eyes light up as a smile spread across her face when she saw him.
He didn't notice her walking up to him.
But he did notice her when she snatched the glasses off his face.
"Maya, what are you-?"
"I didn't know you wore glasses!" she said with a grin, having slid the wireframes over her eyes. "How do I look?" she asked, moving away from Miles, across his study, to look into his computer monitor. She glanced from her reflection to her boyfriend, asking, "Cute, as usual, of course, but better with the glasses yes or no?"
"Honestly?" Miles said, with a slight smile playing on his lips. "I can't see you that well."
"I believe it, your eyesight's terrible!" She took a few small steps closer to him. "There. Any better?"
"Not at all." While he was smiling, he was telling the truth. Maya was no more than five steps away, and yet she was completely blurry.
"Now?" Two more steps.
"Not exactly."
Two more steps and she was right in his face. "Now?" she asked, impatiently.
"You look beautiful." As she always did.
Maya closed the distance for a quick peck on the lips.
"You should wear them more often," she said, pulling them off her face. Sliding them back onto Miles', she continued, "They look great on you."
Prompt: Imagine Person A of your OTP needing glasses but is embarrassed by wearing them all the time so they just put them on for reading. Person B catches them with glasses on and is baffled by how well they suit them.
Person B grabs Person A's glasses, putting them on asking them how good they look wearing them.
Person A just comments that they can't see them clearly and that they'd have to move closer and closer until Person B's close enough to kiss Person A.
