Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
I think my siblings back home in District 11. Sweet little Holly who won't remember me, Marigold who go mature so early to help me take care of the little kids and the others. They surely will miss me.
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when again they open, the sun will rise
But the sun won't rise. At least not for me. This will be my last one.
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
We have daisies back home. They are right outside our door. But I will never see them again.
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.
I love all of my family.
Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray
The sun is starting to set and the moon is coming out. It is a full moon tonight.
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it's morning, they'll wash away
When we have a heavy rain in District 11 we get to get out of work early because the Peacekeepers don't want to stand in the rain.
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
I guarded my siblings from hunger. Giving them my rations whenever I could. Making sure that they didn't go to be hungry even if it meant no food for me that night.
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.
I am loosing the fight for consciousness. My mind is slipping and I am falling into a sleep that I will never wake up out of.
