What Makes You Stranger

Disclaimer: don't own The Dark Knight. I'm not beast like Chris Nolan.

Annie Kane woke up in her husband Frank Kane's loving arms on a lazy Saturday morning. Hopefully today would be a calm, peaceful day without them having to worry about their respective mafia families. "I love you so much." Frank whispered to her as he kissed her ear. "I love you too." She replied as she turned around to face him and smile.

"I don't know what I'd do without you." He said as he gently touched her face.

"You shouldn't talk like that." She said in a worried voice.

"Oh, but it's true. I do know actually, I'd go insane." Frank said as he lowered his hand to her neck and then…

One Year Later

She was dead. His father had killed her to preserve the "family." She died as he nearly drowned in the chemicals he wished had killed him. The only person he loved was dead. Nothing else mattered, he wasn't even himself anymore. He now understood the nature of the world, of man for the first time in his life, as he sat in the chair he was dragged into after he was found. "Mirror, mirror!" He commanded. The man handed him the mirror even though his hands were shaking in fear. Frank looked in the mirror to find his face scarred and damaged beyond repair."Well, whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you stranger." He said with a twisted smile on his face. He laughed maniacally as he made his first kill.
