It was another boring day at the Loud house for Lynn and Lisa Loud. Then again, any day where they didn't either have sports to do nor any scientific discovery to make counted as boring to them. So they went to the kitchen and served themselves some sandwiches.
But something caught the little scientist's attention. And it wasn't some grandiose discovery, a mutation in the bread, or even anything that should interest her at all.
It was the fact that she was drinking coffee.
"Lynn, can I ask you something?" Lisa inquired.
"You already are by asking that," Lynn replied, taking another sip of her coffee. "And besides, I don't own the balls Leni keeps triping on, they probably belong to someone else."
"I presume, they're tennis balls after all," Lisa replied. "No, I want to ask you, exactly how was it when you had your first coffee? I myself haven't tried it yet, but... I'm kind of-"
"Curious?" Lynn finished with a smug smile.
The scientist blushed and looked away. "Well, since my littlest sister wants to know so much," Lynn pulled the genius closer to a hug. "I think the least I can do. You see, it all happened back when I was Lincoln's age..."
Flashback...
A younger Lynn, who basically was the same as Lynn, but smaller and with twin pigtails, sat on the table and impatiently slammed her fists into it. "Co-ffee! Co-ffee!" she chanted in excitement. "Give me coffee!"
And then someone basically shut her up by putting a cup filled with coffee in front of her. The one who gave her the cup was a younger Lori... Who looked exactly the same as before, but slightly smaller. "Here you go," she sternly said.
And as Lori grabbed and put the sugar next to the athlete, she saw her drink some of the coffee, then spit it out in disgust. "You're not supposed to literally drink it right away, you dingus!" the teenager sternly scolded, slapping Lynn in the back of her head. "You're supposed to wait until you put sugar in it!"
Of course, Lynn took this as "open the sugar cup and dump it all on the coffee," though Lori was able to stop her from doing so. "Not like that!" she hissed, snatching away the sugar cup. "Look, this is how you do it."
Lori grabbed a spoon, took two spoonfuls of sugar, then put them in Lynn's coffee before mixing it. "Now taste it."
The athlete obliged and seconds after she drank it, the girl blushed and put on a big wide smile. "Delicious!" she chirped. "But wait, why isn't coffee this sweet in general?"
"Some people, like mom and dad, don't like their coffee sweet," Lori answered, rolling her eyes. "But anyway, just remember: take two spoonfuls of sugar before drinking your sugar, or however much is needed until you're comfortable."
The young jock nodded and giggled, causing Lori to give her a smile before hugging her and kissing her forehead.
Back at the present...
"And that's how I grew jealous of the fact Lori has breasts!" Lynn enthusiastically exclaimed.
"Wait, what?" Lisa blurted, though she quickly changed the subject. "Anyway, you've definitely caught my interest... Can you serve me some coffee?"
The jock silently nodded, and made and served some coffee to her genius sister. She then promptly put the sugar cup nearby and...
"How much sugar would you like?"
In that instant, Lynn and Lisa turned around and saw the person asking them was none other than Lori, sporting a reassuring smile and calm look while holding a spoon. So, not to waste the chance to make her coffee actually tolerable to drink, she gave Lisa a wink, and the genius gave a simple answer:
"Two spoons, please."
Lori put two spoonfuls of sugar in the coffee, and Lisa drank, repeating Lynn's reaction to it when she was younger. And with that done, the genius continued to drink as Lori and Lynn hugged her, which she returned shortly afterwards.
