Hunny like to think he was closer with his family that most rich kids.
He trained with his younger brother and father everyday in the Haninozuka style. His mother, when she was home, would take him to cake shops and they would go shopping together.
But recently, his mother had been home less and less, and when she was, she would collapse exhausted into her futon.
His father, who had had a long lasting resentment for his son's love of cute things and the mountains of sweet pastries he consumed everyday, decided that is was time he became a man and began condoning such behavior.
Hunny liked sweets, but he also liked his father. He held him with the highest respect, being both his father and teacher.
So he locked away his stuffed animals, and deprived himself of cakes, even when the carving for sugar was about to drive him insane.
And as much as he looked forward to his father's praise, he would wonder, how much longer could he live like this? He needed sweets like he needed water. And so, he stopped eating. Even the soft pleadings from Takashi were unable to get the small boy to open his mouth.
But due to the combined effect of his excessively fast metabolism and the hours of martial arts practice he did each day, he soon passed out form the deprivation of foods, and two days in was hospitalized, and a tube put down his throat to supply him with the nutrients.
After he was released, he began eating again, and his father allowed him one cake a day. And so he recovered. A couple weeks passed and things seemed to be progressing smoothly, with his students in the karate club daily indulging him and the continual praise from his father.
It would all go to waste however, when he met the incredibly pompous and egotistical Suoh Tamaki.
