Stuck
After a long day, they
climb into their '67 Chevy Impala,
injured and weary they carry on with their day.
Their lives are filled with cheap food and constant traveling.
The two drive aimlessly until they come to a cheap looking motel;
paying with credit cards stolen and money dishonestly earned.
They slip in and immediately strip of their jackets and hope for sleep.
One slips into the shower and the other falls onto the bed to sleep.
The older one looks out the window and finds comfort in the sight of his '67 Chevy Impala
in the parking lot. He's learned to appreciate and that he has earned
quiet moments like this. He too crawls into his bed because the next day
will bring much of the
same. They wake early and leave the motel
to look for somewhere
their services may be needed and more traveling.
They have been doing this since childhood so miles of traveling
no longer gets to them. Cramped in the front, the tall passenger is sleeping.
Having grown use to the small space and uncomfortable motel
beds, he can sleep anywhere. Music plays in the background of the '67 Chevy Impala.
The sun slowly sets, marking the end of the day.
They know after their long day that rest was definitely earned.
Though their work is underappreciated they feel they have earned
their right to occupy the planet. The long hours of traveling
can only be so relaxed between two people so comfortable with each other. The days
have come to blend together. Between research, investigations, and nightmares, sleep
has become a luxury.
Riding in the '67 Chevy Impala
with heavy metal blaring is the
only relaxed moment, even better than nights in the motels.
The bell over the door of the front entrance of the motel
rings quietly, signally the arrival of the two men. After the rough day, they earned
much needed relaxation. They grab their bags from the '67 Chevy Impala.
They look onto the streets and realize that due to their lengthy traveling
all the towns appear to be the same after awhile. The sleeping,
small towns and bigger city have all seen better days.
Questioning, fighting and digging occupies their days.
Research, fighting, weapons, salt and nights in random motels
fill their evenings. Nightmares disturb the younger's sleep.
Despite all they've
been through and all they've done, they know that they earned
the support of the other. They've grown use to the traveling.
After coming to the aid of someone in need they leave to another unknown destination in
the '67 Chevy Impala.
The boys creep about silently during the day but respect and love has been earned.
They crave for somewhere nice instead of the motels and seemlessly endless traveling.
They've learned to be satisfied when sleep comes and for the ever reliable '67 Chevy Impala
