This one is sad. I'm not totally happy with it; it didn't want to go
the way I wanted it to. Anyway.... yeah, Metal gear
slash, for Livejournal's 15 minute Ficlets community, word 50.
Inspired by Stabbing Westward's "Dawn". Lyrics at the end.

Disclaimer- I own the action figures, and a copy of the game. Not the characters, concept, or marketing rights. I also own a broken copy of the soundtrack to Escape from L.A. that was shattered when my dad heard 'Dawn' and threw the CD against the wall.

Warnings- homosexual themes. Don't read it if that's not your thing.

Kiss me before you go
He watched, eyes half lidded.

It always ended this way.

He came over in the night, alone, besieged by memories he couldn't
suppress, couldn't handle alone.

Hal always let him in. Always gave him a cup of coffee, always sat
with him, while they grew cold and silent, waiting.

And he always spoke, eventually.

Quietly, at first. Words soft, but forceful. Emotion-heavy, falling
like iron feathers on the stillness of the room.

Hal always listened, silent.

He never spoke, not a single sound.

He knew what was required of him, and it wasn't words.

It always happened the same way, as the coffee cup slipped from his
fingers, cold coffee forgotten under silent tears, the press of Hal's
warm lips, and the touch of hands on skin.

They always moved, slowly, clothing falling on the way, to his
bedroom.

They always fell across the sheets.

The lotion always fell to his hand, slick and cold, hand spreading it
inside, lubricating and stretching. Hal always felt it was vaguely
odd, mechanical. But he never said anything.

They always coupled the same way.

Hal always felt vaguely used.

And then it was over.

In the morning, the first light of dawn broke through the window.

He watched with half-closed eyes.

Clothes were collected, slid over skin.

And he was gone.

Hal wished, just once, for a kiss.

Just one kiss, before he was abandoned. Again.

He curled up in his sheets, cold, despite the residual warmth, and
then left the tears come.

Only then did he speak, a broken whisper of a word.

"Jack..."

End.

Lyrics-

My angel my reluctant whore
Decided you can take no more
So let's fuck until we fall asleep
Please don't wake me when you leave

Just kiss me before you go
Kiss me before you go
Kiss me before you go
Promise to kiss me before you go

Funeral but nobody's died
Dressed in black and black inside
In the morning you'll be gone
The stranger that I'll never know

So please kiss me before you go
Kiss me before you go
Kiss me before you go
Promise to kiss me before you go

It's too late now too fall asleep
So just lie here and watch you breathe
In the morning you'll be gone
Like everything I've ever loved

So just kiss me before you go
Kiss me before you go
Kiss me before you go
Promise to kiss me before you go

Before you go
Before you go
