Sion wasn't sure if he was thrilled or terrified.

The fact that he still wasn't quite sure how the two of them had wound up in this situation didn't help much, either. It had just... sort of happened. He could clearly remember nothing new in the way Domon had come up to him. He did drape an arm around him, but that was more habit than anything else. And he would have noticed if there had been something unusual in how he smiled down at him, talking and laughing, pulling him in closer whenever he wanted to make a point. Unfortunately, his memory got fuzzy around when the laughter trailed off and he was about to ask he had done something wrong, but instead somehow, someway, found himself being kissed instead.

And he should have been happy about that. How could he not be happy about no longer having to worry about keeping what he really felt for Domon hidden anymore, and that maybe... maybe Domon felt the way and had simply decided he wouldn't hide it anymore? So he tried to give in completely and focus solely on the kissing that soon became more than just kissing and the shiver he felt as hands crept under his shirt, but still couldn't block out that small, persistent thought in his head: yes, this could be the greatest thing that ever happened to you, but something could go wrong. You might mess everything up and you'd lose what you do have with him now forever... and then you'll be alone again...

It took a considerable amount of willpower to pull away, but Sion managed it. "Domon-san, I...I'm sorry, but--"

Domon smiled weakly, scratching his head. "Heh... sorry that I scared you. Guess I just got carried away." He was doing his best to laugh it off, but looked so hurt that it made keeping his distance all the more difficult.

But that didn't mean he was going to let Domon hurt over him, not when he already had so much pain in his life. "No! I mean... well, I don't mind your getting carried away." He took a breath, hoping the next time he spoke his voice wouldn't sound quite so raw. "I don't mind it at all. I just... I can't risk losing what I have with you now."

Domon looked at him, obviously confused at what he said (which was understandable, since he himself wasn't entirely sure what he was trying to say)... and then he grinned. "You just can't take a hint, can you?"

"What do you mean?"

He hugged him again. "Remember when you first told me how you felt?"

Sion couldn't ignore the warm breath against his ear. "It took me awhile to figure it out, but I feel the same."

There were probably more romantic ways to have said what Domon just told him, but Sion wasn't thinking about that. He was too busy with Domon again to think about that, or anything else, for a long time.
