Wind blowing on my face Sidewalk flying beneath my bike
A five year olds first taste of what freedom's really like
He was running right beside me his hand holding on the seat
I took a deep breath and hollered as I headed for the street
You can let go now, daddy, you can let go oh, I think, I'm ready to do this on my own
It's still a little bit scary but I want you to know I'll be okay now, daddy, you can let go
Lilac had always been with the Cullens. For as long as she could remember Carlisle and Esme were her parents. She was raised by them since she was a child. One of her strongest memories was of when she was five years old. She had begged Carlisle to teach her to ride a bike. When he finally caved she was excited. The wind blowing on her face and she felt it was her first taste of freedom. She remembered asking him not to let go. He was running right beside her, his hand on the seat of her bike. She took a breath as she headed toward the middle of the large driveway. Lilac yelled out "You can let go now daddy! You can let go!" Are you sure Princess?" He asked. "I think I'm ready to do this on my own. It's a little scary but I want you to know I'll be okay now daddy! You can let go!" She hollered. He smiled proud at his daughter's courage. He took his hand off of the seat.
I was standing at the altar between the two loves of my life
To one, I've been a daughter to one; I soon would be a wife
When the preacher asked "Who gives this woman?" Daddy's eyes filled up with tears
He kept holding tightly to my arm 'til I whispered in his ear
You can let go now, daddy, you can let go Oh, I think, I'm ready to do this on my own
It's still feels a little bit scary but I want you to know I'll be okay now, daddy, you can let go
Evelyn was at the altar between the two loves of her life. She gripped her father's arm tightly nervous at the thought of there being only a few steps away from being married to the love of her life. Edward Cullen was the man of her dreams. She was ready to be his wife. The preacher asked "Who gives this woman?" Daddy didn't speak. She looked at him and saw his eyes filled up with tears. He had a tight grip on her arm. Evelyn leaned over and whispered in his ear "You can let go now daddy. You can let go. I think I'm ready to do this on my own. It still feels a little bit scary. But I want you to know I'll be okay now daddy. You can let go." He nodded and let her go. He smiled, but Evelyn could tell his heart was breaking.
It was killing me to see the strongest man I ever knew wasting away to nothing in that hospital room
"You know he's only hanging on for you" that's what the doctor said
My voice and heart were breaking as I crawled up in his bed and said
You can let go now, daddy, you can let go your little girl is ready to do this on my own
It's gonna be a little bit scary but I want you to know I'll be okay now, daddy, you can let go, you can let go
Rebecca Clearwater paced back and forth outside her father's hospital room. Harry had suffered a heart attack and did not have a high chance of making it. They finally let her see her father. It was killing her to see the strongest man she ever knew wasting away to nothing in this hospital room. The doctor came in. "Do you know he's only hanging on for you?" She shook her head. The doctor left the room. Her voice and heart were breaking as she crawled up in his bed and lay next to him. She spoke softly to him "You can let go now daddy. You can let go. Your little girl is ready to do this on my own. It's still a little bit scary, but I want you to know I'll be okay now daddy. You can let go. You can let go. I'll be okay. I love you." His heart monitor stopped.
