Voices. All she could hear were voices, persistent little things they were as well. What were they saying, she couldn't make it out. Louder and louder the whispers became, as they became louder she could start making out what they were saying. "Sam," they were whispering. " We have to get back to the 'gate." But as soon as she could make out what they were saying they were gone again. Had she even heard them to begin with? Or were they a figment of her imagination caused form the massive blow to the head she received earlier? She would ponder the thought later, now it was time to sleep...
She opened her eyes. Bright lights. Why were there bright lights? She groaned, bright lights hurt her head. She closed them again. Then the smell of sterile equipment assaulted her senses. The infirmary, could it be? She hoped so.
Someone came up to her, "Sam?" they said, "Come on Sam, open your eyes again. I know you are awake."
"Go away." She then heard another voice near the door. It was her CO.
"Carter, if you don't open your eyes the Doc is going to use the big needles on you." She grudging accepted that she had to open her eyes and she did so. "There you go. See that wasn't so hard after all was it?"
"Yes, it was." She looked over towards the doorway and sure enough she did see her Commanding Officer Jonathon "Jack" O'Neill standing there.
"You don't have to worry; we will bust you out of here in no time." He slowly started to walk over her bed and promptly sat down in the chair that was there. "So Carter, do you remember what happened?"
"No sir."
"How about I explain?"
