A fic for my friend, Dark Twilight Angel. Actually, to be honest, I would probably never have completed it if she hadn't agreed to make my Yemin picture her wallpaper for a week. WOOHOO! Yemin is seriously my OTP manzxc. Anyways, have fun reading this!

Genesis Rhapsodos awoke to the smell of freshly-cooked bacon. Yawning, he allowed a small smile to grace his lips. The aroma of eggs soon followed after. The red-haired man took a deep breath, taking in the scent of breakfast.

"Morning, honey," a voice called from the door.

Genesis smiled at the woman leaning on the door frame. Her hair was such a pale shade of brown that it was almost blonde and her blue eyes shone like the ocean on a summer's day. Who was this beautiful woman? It was none other than Alexandria Connelly, Genesis's wife. Genesis got up from the bed and walked over to Alexandria. Giving her a brief peck on the lips, he brushed away a few stray strands of hair away from her face before heading for the bathroom.

"Breakfast is ready, you know?" She called after the retreating figure of her husband.

Genesis turned back and gave her a soft smile.

"I know sweetie. I'll be right down. Give me five minutes, okay?"

Alexandria was about to say something in return but the look in the man's eyes silenced her. She recognized that look. It was the same look she had seen the night Genesis had kissed her, the night they first made love. He was thinking about her again.

"Mummy, I'm hungry," a young boy tugged at his mother's skirt. He had fiery red hair and astonishing blue eyes.

Alexandria smiled at the pouting boy and picked him up from the ground, kissing his forehead gently. "Mummy made bacon and eggs. You like bacon and eggs, don't you Leon."

Leon giggled happily and nodded his head. Alexandria laughed as well and went down the steps into the kitchen.

Only after their laughter faded away did Genesis allow himself to breathe. He allowed himself to think about her. After all, today was the day she got married. To Sephiroth. He took out his handphone from his pocket and dialed her number. She picked up on the first ring.

"Hello? Aurora Residence, whom do you want to speak with?" She spoke with the same confident voice. The very voice that attracted him to her.

He didn't reply.

"Ember honey, don't touch that! It's hot!"

Genesis smiled bitterly to himself. How could he have forgotten her daughter? Ember Aurora. The five-year-old was the splitting image of her mother.

"Hello? Is this a joke or something? Because I'm going to hang up now."

Genesis still kept mum. One thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four thousand, five thousand. Click.

She hung up.

"I miss you," Genesis whispered into the phone, even though she was no longer on the line.

Wiping away the tears that had managed to escape from his eyes, he pasted on a fake smile and left the comfort of the bathroom. He loved Alexandria, but she wasn't the one he loved most. He sighed and another smile spread over his face. A broken smile. Perfect in every aspect, symmetrical. A perfect symbol of beauty. And yet, it was so beautifully broken.

I guess second best is all I will know.
