A/N: Espeon804 here for a fantastic fanfiction series! Yeah, you read me right! Series! This story is basically Pokemon… with a twist. I started this a long time ago, and I've rewritten chapters 1-4 because my 13-year-old writing ability does not match my 16-year-old one today. I had to add more detail to make it better. Just so you know, the story doesn't really get into it's main focus until I think… the 6th chapter.
It won't hurt to read a fanfiction from a teen. Review or comment to tell me how you feel about it!

DISCALIMER: I DO NOT own Pokemon! You know who does! If i did, then Ash would be 16 by now.
-Proulouge-
"Daddy!" A small little girl and her twin brother leaped into a man's arms. "Guess what? Guess what?" The six year olds chanted. They continued this for a while.
The father chuckled. They are usually like this when they are beaming with energy. A burden to him at times. Already he was getting tired of hearing the chant, so he decided to end it. "Okay, what is it?"
The little girl smiled brightly. "I saw a cool Pokémon show today! Pikachu won a gym battle!"
The father sighed. How predictable. "You and Pokémon… I swear…" He put the children down and said, "How about you two go outside and play? Go do that, rather than watching Pokémon all day."
"ALRIGHT!" The little girl ran ahead of her brother and laughed as she caught up with her friends outside. However, before she could reach them, it became dark, and a strong force was felt. To the mind of a 6 -year-old, it's intimidating to experience new things. "Uh… guys? Do you feel funny?"
"Yeah." A little boy mumbled. "I-I want to go home…"
Suddenly, a pink rift formed in thin air. Everyone thought it was cool, until…
"EEEEARRRAAAAHHH!" The terrible roar echoes through the air, making the ground shake, Some of the other children nearly lost their balance. They all ran like roaches, scattering for cover. A huge shadow loomed over the little girl. "DADDY!"
The father ran outside immediately. His eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at the sight of the pink rift floating 2 feet from the ground. "What the fu-"
The shadow leaped towards the little girl and her brother and snatched them away.
"NO!" He sprinted towards the portal as soon as his parental instincts kicked in. He had to save his only kids, even if it meant putting his own life on the line against this mysterious creature.
"DADDY!"
The shadow flew through the portal, and it closed. There was no hope. It left… the father, crushed. He couldn't do anything.
"My… kids…no…"
But what they wasn't aware of is why they were taken away.
-Chapter 1: The adventure begins!-
16 years later, and I'm still living in this strange world. I look out the window, watching a Crobat and Pidgeot argue over Arceus-knows what. It got to the point that a Salamence had to step in before it turned into a fight. As stubborn as they are, they spit raps berries at him. He roars out his name and meteors fall down.
"Not again…" I sighed. I opened up the window. "Fang! How many times?! You'll kill somebody one day doing that!"
The Crobat and Pidgeot laughs as he huffs and sits down in guilt.
"Batty and Feather, you know better."
Now they're not laughing. Especially when the mystical Xerneas waltz into the scene. She ives them a lecture. I love that deer.
So I'm guessing that you're wondering how a 22-year-old got a legendary. I had 'her' since I was 16. Trust and believe.
It first started when Palkia took me from earth. Just so you know, I can go back there in dawn and dusk. But I'll explain everything.
So this was my story:
It was just a regular Monday in the Sinnoh region. I live in a little town named Twinleaf town, a very peaceful town that is. All my years of being here, I always wanted to become a Pokémon trainer just like Ash and his friends. I was asleep late as always. Then, the Starly alarm clock broke the silence. Boy, that annoying cry of the thing.
"Urrgh! Stop chirping you thing!" I groaned. Yeah, I knew I was talking to a alarm clock. I hit the off button, then went back to sleep. But, that lasted only a minute, because my twin brother shook me, trying to wake me up. His name is William. He is 12 like me. Yeah, Johanna, our guardian, didn't let us become trainers until we turned 12. The crazy thing is that her own daughter Dawn was able to start raising her own when she turned 10. I honestly didn't see why we were held up for 2 more years.
"Liana! Liana! Your late!" He yelled, now shaking me like crazy. I was about to snap.
"Huh? Late for what? School? No. It's been over two years ago. Leave me alone or
i'll punch you." I warned.
"Didn't you want to become a Pokémon trainer?!" He asked.
My eyes snapped wide open. "A POKEMON WHAT?! OH,NO! I'M LATE!" I yelled as I quickly ran down stairs. Yesterday I was so excited I just changed into my outside clothes to get ready for today. I grabbed my bag, ran outside and rode my bike. I didn't even noticed that my brother was running after me and shouting for some reason.
"Wait! You can't just...! And.. she's gone." William sighed. He walked back into the house.
I rode through route 201 as fast as I could. avoiding any tall grass as possible, because Pokemon these days not only jump out the grass to fight, there were cases that a few people actually died. So then i had my answer on why my adventure was postponed. "Okay! Where is Sandgem town?! I've been there before! I WANT MY PIPLUP!" I yelled. I then saw a old man crossing the road. "H-hey mister! LOOK OOOOUT!" I warned.
"Huh?" He was looking around, trying to find who said that. He didn't see what happened next.
(CRASH! tinkle...)
At this rate, I'll never learn how to drive a car.
"Ooogh. I think.. I totaled.. my bike." I groaned. I then sat up seeing the man on the ground. "Oh! I'm sooo sorry mister! I-I was too excited to see where I was going!
Please don't tell!" I begged.
The man got back to his feet and wiped the dust and dirt out of his suite. He picked up my beat up bike and gave it to me. "Why would a child like you be so careless about where they are going? What was the rush?" He asked.
I looked at my feet. "I was late. I was rushing to go get my starter Pokemon." I explained.
The man thought for a moment. "You must be Liana. correct?" He asked.
I nodded quickly. A hint of suspicion hit me on why he knows my name.
"Hm! You've came to the right man! I am Professor Rowan. But some people call me the Pokemon Professor. Please follow me." The man said. Once again, my question was answered. So I get to meet the famous Professor Rowman.
With a quick nod, I kept close behind. He lead me into his lab. And I have to say... it was the most coolest place I've ever seen even though the data in here in very confusing. He lead me to a table. There, stood 3 poke balls. In the order of grass, fire and water.
"There, inside those poke balls contain 1 Pokemon. Choose 1, and it'll be yours to keep." The professor explained.
My pulse was racing. I quickly grabbed the one with Piplup. "OOOh boy! I always wanted this Pokemon! Go! Piplup!" I yelled tossing it. It opened with a pop, but.. nothing came out!
"AAAAAH! No! I'm not going to end up like Ash!" I whined. He overslept and ended up with a Pikachu. Pikachu was cute and all, but honestly, I wanted my very own starter. So, I took my second choice. "I Choose you! Go! Chimchar!"
Same results.
The professor scratched his head. " I do recall giving those Pokemon to 2 Trainers.
A Boy took the Piplup. a Girl took the Chimchar." He explained. I groaned in irritation and took the last one. He could had told me that earlier.
"C'mon! You're my only hope! Go! Turtwig!" I yelled. It open blueness came out of the ball, turning into a shape. When it cleared. there stood a little green snapping turtle.
"Twig! Turtwig!" He yelled.
"Aww! Why do I have to be stuck with this thing instead of a Piplup?" I whined.
The Turtwig heard what I said and jumped on my head and bite it.
"YOOOOOOW! GET HIM OFF! GET HIM OFF!" I screamed. The professor grabbed the tiny leaf Pokemon and removed it carefully to be sure that I don't lose my head.
"Turtwig! Turt!" The Pokemon yelled. He turned away from me.
"You must be careful around this Pokemon. he will bite." The professor explained.
Thanks, I knew that already.
I slowly walked towards the Pokemon. He made me nervous the way he glared at me. I had a feeling that he was going to do it again. Better apologize. "I'm sorry. I just got upset. Please forgive me Razor leaf." I said, giving him a nickname.
The Turtwig smiled brightly "Twig!" He said.
Rowan walked to me. "Here are you poke balls and Pokedex. Use the Poke balls to capture wild Pokemon. And this device, a pokedex, use it to learn about Pokemon. More data will be added when you capture it. Good luck and don't get into any trouble!" he explained. "I appricaite the fact that you volunteered to help me with my research. I ask you to meet every Pokemon that is out there!"
So now he had been wanting me to go out in this world where countless Pokemon thrive in grass and caves, waiting for a girl to wander into their territory so that they can maul her to death if they get the chance and all I have is a little Turtwig? Sure, I can catch more and train them to become stronger so… I'm in.
I left the lab with my new Pokemon. I turned to him. "Okay buddy. lets get started shall we?" I said. Training starts as soon as a rookie steps out the door.
"Turtwig!" Razor leaf yelled in excitement. We started to run, only to run into someone. I forgot to mention how clumsy I was. Another reason why I'll probably never get a car. Top that with my short-term memory. It's terrible.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I was-" I stopped talking when I saw who I ran into. I became nervous. I am Facing my all-time rival/bully.
"Marlen?!" I gasped.
