This isn't entirely accurate for the scene but I changed a few things. This could be considered a Sharon/Break story. I ship them alot. But I hope you Xerxes fans enjoy this. I enjoyed writing it, even if it was so short.
Please review! :)
Enjoy!
Break was relieved and strangely enough...in awe.
He took the offered hand, almost hesitating. The sounds of the music were still playing, laughter was filling the main room and out to the lone open patio.
Where there stood one violet haired mistress and her mad servant.
Break's gloved hand gripped Sharon's tightly, he never was good at dancing.
She was never supposed to accept it. He never expected her to accept it so readily.
And yet, he told her.
The news that to even himself was surprisingly sad to hear. When he was younger, right after he had been found outside the Rainsworth's gates of the Abyss, he wouldn't of cared. Break had nothing to want, to live, to even care to see. His lack of eyesight wouldn't of been any lose to him at. How immature.
The music stopped.
But now it was.
The sparkling smile, the violet eyes, and her satin dresses. He had lost something he had always take for granted before.
The music started and they danced, or in Break's case, tried to dance.
Never again would he see that lovely smile of the child he looked over in severals years, her frustrated face at his teasing. That extraordinary girl who brought him lilies despite him being so cruel. The girl who cared for him with such intensity that it scared him.
He was a fool. Thinking of Sharon as a child.
I was afraid...
Step. Twirl. Right.
To make you cry..
Dip. Left. Step.
But to my surprise...
Step. Step. Dip.
Before I knew it..
The music faded away, the two lone figures under the moonlight. Break heard her rapid breathing, her small delicate hands gripping his coat. So slowly, he slid one gloved hand up her waist, making a path, a memory. The hand slid up her waist, up to her shoulders, to her neck, and went to caress her cheek.
His expression soft, he leaned forward to press his lips gently to her forehead. Break bent down and rested his forehead against hers, using his hands to wipe the wetness of tears that were silently falling and he closed his eye, at peace for the moment.
Sharon wrapped her arms loosely around his waist, not making a sound, for she did not want to break this moment. One of the few she might have with him.
Break leaned forward to whisper in her ear, his warm, light breathing tickling her. Just two words that only she could hear, "Thank you."
You grew into a beautiful young lady...
