Disclaimer: Vampire Diaries (TV show) and Supernatural and its characters aren't mine. I only write fan fiction for fun and entertainment.
A/N: This is an attempt to postpone the inevitable. I don't want Caroline to die... so help me and write many drabbles and one-shots of how she can avoid getting killed off on the show! I would rather see her in a crossover or AU than dead!

She is walking down a lonely street. It's in the middle of the night, and all she can think about is escape. She knows that if she doesn't disappear now, she'll never be free, she might die might be murdered.
It's not that she wants to leave her home, the place she was raised and grew up in. It's not that she wants to abandon the small town she has known her whole life long. But she doesn't want to become a thicket in the soil either. She wants to live, she wants to be. And she knows if she stays in Mystic Falls any longer, Damon might succeed in killing her. If he doesn't, then Katherine will. She's already killed her once, and made it clear; she has no problem of doing it again. This time more permanent.
She knows that she is paranoid... and insecure, but this has nothing to do with the real threat that is hanging over her head now. Her life is in danger; or better to say, her un-life.
So she decided to quit the stage before she falls off. She'd rather flee and remember Mystic Falls from time to time, than stay there and get herself killed because of some psycho-war that is ragging within her vampire-family.
As the bus stop comes into sight before her, she tries not to pick up her speed. There is no reason for her to run, to alarm anyone that she knows that someone is after her. she walks in a steady pace. Soon enough she reaches the safe-heaven that is the bus stop. She stands there for about forty-five minutes before the bus comes. Forty-five minutes that feel like hell. She feels vulnerable standing there in the middle of a street waiting for a stupid bus, which will take her away from the stupid life she never wanted.
When the bus finally does come, she does her best to smile. Had she the ability to cry, she's sure that the tears would fall now. Yes, this is it, she thinks, she is now really leaving everything behind she ever knew. And this bus ride will be the ride into a new life. It's scary, and for a moment she considers just turning and facing Damon, Katherine and even her mum.
But then the bus stops before her and the doors open. The man behind the wheel looks at her and lifts his chin, in question if she'll get in or not.
"Here goes nothing..." murmurs Caroline before stepping into the bus.
New life, here she comes. Caroline Forbes has officially quit the stage... and entered into a journey of her life.
And while she passes the driver, she hears the lyrics "Can't take my eyes off of you" and a familiar and rather annoying song starts as background music to her new life. Or better to say un-life.
