what if Rinoa and Seifer had been switched ?
what if Rinoa was fighting Squall instead of Seifer?
it might have happened something like this ......

(this was before Rinoa and Squall had ever met.)
i dont own ff8 or any of its characters they belong to squaresoft.
It was the beginning of a new day in balamb garden and Rinoa Heartilly had been up for a while and was bored.She decided to goto the cafeteria ,she ran a hand through her hair as she walked.On the way there she bumped into her rival Squall Leonhart "watch where your going leonhartless"
"whatever " \that was squalls reply for everything one of these days someones going to have to buy him a vocabulary dictionary\
~Squalls p.o.v~ \leonhartless....is that what there calling me now?is that what people see me as heartless?just because i keep my thoughts to myself?well fine ...whatever\ He carried on walking ,planning on going to the fire cavern because he hadnt been yet."hey! what do you say to a duel in the training center?"
he replied "fine" and with that he turned and walked in the direction of the training center.
when they both arived at the training center they got out there weapons and begun to fight.Rinoa shot first with her blast edge but Squall blocked it
easly "i thought you had more than that Rinoa"
Rinoa grinned and cast a fire spell on Squall
"heh" with that rinoa raised her weapon and shot Squall in the head
Squall pulled out the disc and it made a scratch between his eyes .
Squall shortly passed out.
Squall later on woke up in the infirmary with a pounding headache and a giant scar.
He ran a finger over his new scar \stupid Rinoa \.
Then squall saw a girl go past the infirmary window, she looked in and then walked away.
Minute or so later quistis trepe his instructor came in.
"come to check on your student quistis?"
"yes ,how is he?"
"ask him yourself"
Quistis walked over to squall and asked how are you feeling?
squall replied i have a pounding headache and a scar between my eyes.
Elsewhere Rinoa was sitting in the cafeteria eating one of the hotdogs that zell hadn't eaten yet. (if there is such a thing)
~Rinoas pov~
\i cant believe dincht didnt find this, oh well \
\man theres nothing like an easy win in the morning to make you feel alive now hes ether in the infirmary crying like a baby or hes in the fire cavern being toasted\
Rinoa then stands up and walks to class .After class quistis said
"Rinoa could you be a little easyer on your training partner please"
"he should be harder to beat then!"
"class dismished ,oh and Squall could you wait for me by the gates because you still havent been to the fire cavern have you?"
"no i was going to go this morning but Rinoa....."
Squall and Quistis walk to the gates and then walk to the fire cavern and stand outside.
