Bree sighed as she stepped out of her capsule. She had no idea what the time was, but clearly it was late because both of her brothers were now asleep.
After the events of the day, the teen had gone to bed early, her run in with Krane had physically and mentally drained her, leaving her totally exhausted.
She sank into her Dad's swivel chair, and slowly began to turn herself round, closing her eyes as she spun in a peaceful silence.
Because of this, she failed to notice her brother's wake up and step out of their own capsules, watching her closely.
Finally, Bree came to a halt, feeling dizzy. She opened her eyes and jumped to her feet at the sight of the boys looking down on her.
Sighing in relief, as she saw who it was, she collapsed back into the chair, grabbing her chest.
"Are you okay?" Chase asked in concern, raising an eyebrow at her
"Yeah, if you two idiots didn't sneak up on me like that!"
Adam folded his arms, leaning against the desk behind him as he studied his sister.
"What?" she demanded after a while, unable to take their stares any longer
"We're worried about you" Chase told her "After what Krane did..." he trailed off at the memory of Bree flying through the air and crashing hard into the wall.
"I'm fine" she insisted, scuffing her toe on the ground "Mr Davenport checked me over, so did Eddy!"
The boys exchanged a look "I can't believe we let him get away!" Adam hissed, clenching his fists as he returned his gaze to Bree.
"We'll get him next time" she shrugged, picking up the Ipad from the tabletop "I have no idea how this didn't break" she said with a laugh, turning it over in her hands.
Chase took it from her gently, placing it back down before crouching before her
"Okay now you're just being weirder than usual" Bree informed him warily
"You have to promise us something" Adam told her seriously
The girl looked at them in amusement "What's that then?"
Chase nodded to their older brother who sighed
"You can't go anywhere by yourself, not until we get Krane"
Bree couldn't help but laugh "Adam, I'm a big girl" she assured him
"And I'm your big brother" the boy said firmly "It's my job to look after you two!"
"And you do" Bree told him, getting to her feet "Why're you doubting yourself all of a sudden?"
"I couldn't stop Krane from hurting you could I?" Adam said grudgingly
"He's sneaky, even I didn't see that coming and I'm meant to be the fast one"
Chase straightened up "And I'm meant to be the clever one – I didn't see it coming either"
Bree nodded, smiling up at Adam "It was nobody's fault" she assured him "And besides, I'm fine"
The boy looked her up and down before pulling her into a tight hug
"Err, can't breathe big bro" she groaned, feeling the force of his super strength
"Sorry" he muttered, releasing her quickly
She smiled softly "It's okay"
"We should get back to bed you guys" Chase cut in quietly "Otherwise we'll have no energy for training tomorrow"
"Do you think Mr Davenport will go after Douglas?" Bree wondered, following him to the capsules
"Probably, he just doesn't believe that Douglas was the one who saved us"
Adam bowed his head "Having two Dad's is confusing" he mumbled with a frown.
"Mr Davenport's our Dad" Bree told him simply, patting him on the back.
The boy nodded, grinning as he understood.
"You sure you're okay?" Chase asked again, as the three stood before their capsules
Bree looked between her brothers, a smile gracing her lips "Yeah, I'm fine"
She held out her arms for the both of them to hug her, and they did, standing in the silence of the lab as they made a wordless promise to always protect each other and keep each other safe.
