The Road to the Apocalypse
It was a normal day for the Quest Team in their compound in Florida. Six months have passed since the Quest Team's most notorious enemy, Dr. Zin, destroyed the Quest Compound in Maine. Jonny Quest and his best friend/lover Jessie Bannon were attending school while Alex Kenyon, the nephew to the Quest Team ally Jade Kenyon, was being home schooled. When Alex first joined the team, there was tension between Alex and Jessie at first, but they eventually learned to get along.
However, things were not going to be so ordinary for the Quest Team, at least for the first time in six months. Alex was going to meet Jonny and Jessie at the local youth center and Hadji Singh, Doctor Benton Quest and Race Bannon were about to come face to face with a revelation.
"Are you sure you don't want me to drive you to the youth center, Alex?" Race asked.
"I am sure, but thank you," Alex answered, "My Uber Ride is going to meet me at the drive way. I will be safe and I assure you Jonny and Jessie will do the same."
"Okay then Alex," Benton replied, "Be careful."
Alex nodded before leaving the compound and closed the door behind him.
"I am having some strange feeling." Benton stated.
"What do you mean by that, Doc?" Race asked.
"I have been having this strange dream," Benton explained, "this woman that looked like a seer...informing me of a revelation that is to come."
"What exactly do you mean by that?" Hadji asked.
"She gave me this message: One hero will save us all as another quest arrives at the existing plane," Benton answered, "This hero will set balance to the force, and to save all of mankind. If it's not fulfilled like said, the end will come to play and take over the world. All in All the End is Nigh."
The three were surprised by the statement, even Benton although he was the one who said it.
"This sounds like an apocalyptic statement." Hadji spoke up as he broke the minute of silence.
Suddenly, the voice of IRIS2 chimed in, "Patrick Sanderson is at the doorway."
"Patrick Sanderson?!" Benton exclaimed.
"I thought we would never see him again." Race added.
"Open door." Benton told IRIS2.
Patrick Sanderson, a man close to Benton's age, was a tall man with grayish black hair, a moustache and blue eyes wearing a white top, black pants and black boots.
"Pat," Benton greeted his old friend, "It has been a long time."
"What brings you here, Pat?" Race asked.
"Mind if I sit down?" Pat asked, "I will explain what is going on."
"Sure." Benton nodded.
Pat took a seat at the armchair, "In case you are wondering, Liz and I divorced last year. That is why she is not here with me."
"She became too much for you and Chloe?" Race asked.
"Exactly."
"But what is going on here?" Hadji asked.
"A pair of men claiming to work for Dr. Zin attacked your daughter, Chloe." Pat told Benton.
Race and Hadji looked at the red head man as the latter was surprised at this revelation.
"Daughter?!" Hadji exclaimed.
"Her name is Chloe." Benton explained, "This is going to be hard to believe. Years before Jonny was born, Rachel and I had Chloe and at the time, I had sent her to live with Pat because we felt that she would be safer there, which albeit was bad judgment on my part."
"Why is that?" Hadji asked.
"Because of how awful Liz treated her over the years," Pat answered, "Ever since she was a child. However, Benton, that is not your fault. There was no way you could have known about all that happened."
"We will talk more of this later." Race told the others, "but first we need to know, where is Chloe now?"
"She is at the local youth center." Pat told the team's bodyguard.
"Jonny, Jessie and Alex are there as well." Benton stated, "We need to get there at once!"
"It looks like Jonny and I are about to meet our sister for the first time." Hadji declared.
The four men hurried out of the Quest Compound and were on their way to the youth center for their first adventure in months.
