Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, it belongs to the rightful owners. All I own in this story is Anna.
I dance around my room in my pyjamas, my best friend and partner Eevee joining in. Today we're going on holiday to the Unova region with our friend, Professor Oak, and my family. I'm really excited, there'll be so many new Pokemon to discover.
"You ready, Eevee?" I smile at the normal type, gently picking her up. She nods positively and I giggle.
Eevee lies on the bed while I quickly dress. I decided to wear my knee-length yellow dress with my denim jacket and a pair of sandals. I don't know much about the weather in Unova, so I pack my backpack for all sorts of weather. I tie my long black hair into a plait down my back and I turn to Eevee.
"Ready." I move to leave, before realising I forgot my necklace. It's very special to me – an old friend gave it to me back in Johto. I never take it off, except for when I sleep. After putting it on and doing one final check of my room, I pick Eevee up and we head downstairs.
"Morning, honey."
"Hi, Mom!" I hug her.
"Could you be a dear and check on your brother?" Mom rolls her eyes a little, and I laugh.
I leave Eevee with Mom and head back upstairs, moving to the bedroom next to mine which belongs to my twin brother. I knock twice before entering, and see Ash is already dressed, minus his hat. Pikachu hops onto my shoulder as I enter, and I give my second best friend a hug and a scratch behind the ears. He practically melts into my touch and I giggle.
"Ash. We're ready to go."
"All set." Ash says, putting his hat on. Pikachu hops from my shoulder to Ash's, snuggling into him.
We finally got to Unova. Ash and I stretched, and we began to head inside the airport where we would meet Professor Juniper. Once inside we realised my brother and his partner were missing. Just as I was heading outside to check on him, it began to thunder right above where Ash was. I raced outside and I found Ash and Pikachu on the dock. Both were okay. Mom and Oak ran up behind me, as I hugged my brother.
"Your ok!" I was relieved that him and Pikachu were safe.
"Ash dear!" Mom begins to check on him as I pull away. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine Mom, Anna. And so is Pikachu." Ash says, only just as he says that Pikachu's cheeks begin sparking. Pikachu hops onto his shoulder and reassures us both that he's fine. I smile and stroke his ears.
"I'm glad your both OK."
Professor Juniper arrives soon after.
"I'd like you to meet Professor Juniper. Don't let her youthfulness fool you, she's one of the most important researchers in Unova." Oak introduces her.
"Hi! I'm Anna, this is Eevee." Me and my partner smile at her. "This is my mom and my brother."
"I'm Ash, and this is my buddy Pikachu."
"Delia." Mom smiles, shaking hands with Juniper.
"It's a pleasure to meet each of you." The professor smiles.
We take a car ride to her lab, both professors in the front and Mom, me and Ash in the back. I take the middle seat, while Eevee sits on Mom's lap so she can lean her head over the window and watch all the wild Pokemon that we pass by. Eevee loves playing with them, but she knows better than to hop out of the car.
"There'll be plenty of Pokemon for you to play with at the lab, right Professor?"
"That's right!"
Upon arrival at the lab, Eevee runs straight inside searching for new friends. Juniper just laughs and shows Eevee to the main room where three pokeballs sit. Before she can release them, a boy enters. He's about the same age as me and Ash, and he walks over to the Professor.
"Trip. That time already?" Juniper asks the boy, who's busy taking pictures of everything with his camera. He pauses when he sees Eevee run over to him.
"An Eevee?" The boy, Trip, manages to sound both bored and impressed at the same time, snapping photos of her as Eevee sits down in front of him, acting cute. I laugh a little, catching his attention. "This your Eevee?"
"Yep. She just wants to be your friend, that's all." I smile. Trip huffs, ignoring Eevee in favour of the pokeballs Juniper is holding. Eevee's ears droop and I quickly move to her, giving her a big hug.
Juniper releases the Pokemon in the pokeballs. Tepig, Snivy and Oshawott, she calls them. The typical starters here in Unova. Trip looks at each of them in turn before choosing the Snivy. The Pokemon matches the trainer – both seem to be snobbish. Juniper hands him a pokedex and some pokeballs, but before he can leave Ash runs after him. I follow them outside and see they've decided to have a battle – Snivy vs Pikachu. I lean against a tree, near enough to watch the battle but not so near as to be in danger. Eevee curls up in my lap, she'd rather nap.
Pikachu uses Quick Attack, hitting Snivy. It doesn't seem to have done a whole lot of damage, but Ash is overconfident as always. Snivy retaliates with a Tackle attack, which Pikachu dodges. Pikachu moves to use a Thunderbolt attack, but nothing happens.
"What's going on?" Ash is worried and confused. Before they can react, Snivy tackles Pikachu again, making contact and knocking the electric type back. Pikachu tries another Thunderbolt but all that happens is a few sparks. They try Volt Tackle but this isn't working either.
"Calling moves that you can't even use." Trip laughs.
"Ash! Try using non-electric moves!" I yell, sending Trip a glare.
"Right. Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Ash calls. This move works, but Snivy dodges. "Ah! Just electric type moves!"
"I thought so..." I mutter to myself, as I watch the rest of the fight. This means all Pikachu can do is Quick Attack or Iron Tail. A Leaf Tornado from Snivy finishes the battle, with Trip as the winner.
Trip leaves after the battle, while Ash rushes Pikachu inside the lab where Professor Juniper takes a look at him. Not long after her examination, it begins to thunder again and Pikachu's electric moves can be used again. Juniper believes it was Zekrom, a legendary Pokemon in Unova, that caused the thunder and Pikachu's problems.
Once Pikachu was safely restored, Ash and I decided to travel in the Unova region. Mom accepted it straight away, she probably already guessed the moment we landed that we would want to explore this new region. I feel ready for whatever Unova throws at us, and I know I'm not alone. I have my brother and our partners, and together nothing will stop us.
