He was falling.

For a moment he didn't notice, too wrapped up in his emotions as they clattered and clanged ricocheting and colliding in his mind. He didn't notice that he let go. There was only the disappointment in the eyes of the man who he considered a father and the pity and desperation in those of the one he considered a brother. He couldn't handle the eyes and his mind shut down and his body let go. Through the cascade in his mind he realized his once-family was falling away from him. Some part of his mind registered the thundering yell of his brother but the eyes were still consuming him. He didn't notice the horror and despair that filled those same eyes as they watched his body fall into space.

He was falling and then he wasn't.
