The steady rain pounded the black pavements underneath his feet. The
sky was as dark and empty as it always was, illumating the world below
it with only the sickly light of the giant heart shape moon.
Ah
That moon.
It was an artificial creation, a desperate attempt to make the
incomplete whole. A pathetic hope just waiting to be crushed. The rain
kept pouring, forming ripples around him as he looked up into the sky.
His dirty blond bangs stuck to his forehead as he watched the empty
black stretch of sky with equally empty eyes.
And he was sure, that if he could produce feelings, if he could so
much as feel sorrow, he would be crying. Instead his sapphire blue
eyes remained dull and indifferent.
Ah
Indifference...
Isn't that what every single one of them were? Could they really have
a position if they didn't have passion? Dedication?
Then was even this hope to be complete... A lie?
Sometimes... Sometimes he didn't believe it, when he sat in the
organization, with those like him around, pretending to have
individuality...
He felt like a human.
Those times he sat with Xion, teasing the girl and with Axel.
Ah...
Axel...
Sometimes Roxas wished, hoped, even prayed that they did have
hearts... That they could somehow feel. Because then, all those smiles
the red-head flashed him, all those times he'd felt the butterflies,
all those words he'd spoken to the beautiful red-head...
They would all be a lie.
He was on his knees then, ignoring the piercing cold as the water
seeped through his pants. He bit back a shiver as the things he'd been
wishing for began to assault him.
Was it really a heart he wanted? Was it really the ability to feel
that he craved?
Was it love? To be able to love and be loved in return?
No, not even that.
He looked up at the sky, the rush of thoughts making his head throb
and his throat felt dry as he cried out to the sky.
"Please! Kingdom Hearts, God, anyone! I don't know who you are... If
you even exist... But please!" He begged, feeling the rain drip down
his face. "Please... Allow me to stay by that person's side!
Forever... I beg you..." And he looked down again, his vision blurry
and his face feeling warm.
And he was once again filled with hope. Because for the first time ever...
He was crying.
He was feeling.
