Prologue:

Britney Hartman always knew her children would be powerful. Powerful and magical. In September 14, 1993 she gave birth to her first child Sean Preston Hartman. When Sean was 6, Britney gave birth to her second child Jayden James Hartman on September 12 1999. Soon after however, when the boys were still young, Their father Kevin Hartman discovered that his family were mutants, couldn't handle it and left. A little while later, Britney became deathly ill from pneumonia. As she laid in her bed, Sean was right beside her. "Sean, sweetheart I need you to do mommy a huge favor," she said as Sean turned around. "What mommy?" he asked, tears sparkling in his blue eyes. Britney drew in a deep shaky breath. Tears started running down Sean's face, as he could tell that she was having trouble breathing. "I need you to promise me something." She told him, as she took a sip of water. "What mommy?" Sean asked again. "Promise me, that no matter what happens, that you will always look after your brother, and keep him safe." Sean nodded. "Don't worry mommy, JJ will be safe with me." He told her smiling with pride. Britney smiled. Sean was a great big brother and she knew that as long as they stuck together, nothing would happen. Sean turned back to the TV screen, as Britney's eyes began to flutter closed. Sean sensed that something was wrong, and immediately turned his attention back to his mother. "Mommy?" he asked. Britney didn't answer. "Mommy!" Sean said a little louder. Still no response. At that moment, tears ran down the young boy's cheek, and his face became red with sadness and rage. "Mommy! Wake up!" Sean said now raising his voice. Britney still didn't answer. Sean gave up, and ran into his little brother's room, who was now screaming in his crib. "Shh. It's alright JJ." Sean said taking his baby brother out of the crib.

Tears still streamed down Sean's face as he held his baby brother. They were really alone. Their father left them, and now their mother was dead. Nothing else mattered anymore at that point. As long as they had each other, that was all they really needed. That was the fateful night that changed the two brother's lives forever…
