"Severus," She whispers, "I love you." Severus smiles at her and tugs her blonde hair, pulling her to himself. She laughs, wraps her arms around him, happiness written plainly on her face. Then he kisses her, bruising her small mouth with his own. They stay like that for minutes, each savoring the other's embrace.
Then he pulls away, watches as she looks at him, hazel eyes filled with hurt. Hands trembling, he pulls a steely mask from his robes and places it on his face. Once a mortal, now he is Death. Once he loved.
Now he kills.
Pointing his wand, he whispers, "Avada Kedavra."

The figures dance, pale faces contorted into grimaces. Of agony or ecstasy, he can't determine. They are shadow demons, glorying in death. They smile at their victims, eyes filled with bloodlust. Then they rip them apart ;bathe in their blood.
"Brother," they call, "Join us. Dance our dance, rejoice as we do! Watch them burn, watch them scream! They are toys, naught but Muggles and Mudbloods. Play with them. Break them!!"
And so he joins the dance.

"Mommy!" The little boy screams, as he is forced to watch his mother die. He can be no more than three, just an innocent child. Around him tall shadows jeer at him, taking pleasure from his pain. Severus holds him as he squirms frantically.
"Shhh. It'll all be over soon." He croons into the boy's ear. With that, he withdraws an ebony knife from his robes. Quickly he pulls it across the boy's throat.
Crimson blood spills onto his hands, turning them red with a stain he knows will never come off.

The voices call to him, countless whispers in the dead of night. He recognizes some of them, while the others are merely nameless entities. They infiltrate his mind, spin their ghostly webs around him, trapping him in a cocoon of shattered dreams.
Join us!
He shakes his head violently, trying desperately to escape them. They only talk louder, screaming inside his head. The voices haunt his every waking moment. He put them through hell for a few minutes.
They put him through hell for all eternity.
And so he runs, runs until his lungs are on fire. Vaguely he can hear someone shouting at him, asking him what is wrong. He only runs faster. Why speak? Nothing is real but the voices.
The voices know it… and so does he.
Arriving at the Astronomy Tower he stops. Quietly he walks to the tower's edge and peers over its side. Within his mind the voices yell. Jump!, they scream, each louder than the one before it. You are already damned. Why live in purgatory when you can burn in hell?
He jumps.
The voices rejoice. And so does he…
For he knows that heaven is hell and hell heaven.
A.N. I scare myself. Anyway, this was based on a dream I had, so it may be confusing. Apologies for that. Please review.
Adios!
