A/N: Another story from my blog and decided to place here as well ^_^
Kid, the Death the Kid, the son of the grim reaper was distraught, falling to pieces. His longtime friend, no, his longtime crush has been taken from him. It wasn't that long ago they were sitting with him in class chatting about the day and laughing. Then it was all taking away when the DWMA was attacked by Medusa. (Name) was supposed to be inside helping the wounded but instead they came outside and took the death blow that was meant for him.
They risked their life, their future, and happiness to save him. He couldn't forgive himself for letting them die. It's been months since then and he hasn't left his room. He couldn't bare going back to school or facing everyone with his shame. He didn't want to see the very place he met the almost love of his life.
While wallowing in his self-destruction he didn't notice someone had entered his room. When he finally sensed the presence of someone there, he rolled further into his bed and draped his blanket over his head, "If that's you Liz, I'm not gonna listen to anything you have to say again. Just go away…."
"Well, for one I'm not Liz and two I really thought you'd want to see me." Kid couldn't believe his ears. Moving so fast from under the covers, falling on the ground landing on his head, he saw the most amazing sight. "(Name)….?" Rolling over and hopping to his feet. He couldn't move, or even believe they were- no it had to be a hallucination from being isolated all this time.
Slowly standing up, Kid was in a daze trying to process if what he was seeing was really them. Deciding to take his chances he walk slowly towards them, hands out to see if they were real. When he was close enough to touch them he could feel solid muscle and warmth. As he was examining, (Name) was patiently waiting. Liz had filled them in on everything that happened when they showed up. They could only feel like it was their fault Kid was like this. All they wanted to do was protect him like he has them.
After Kid deduced they weren't a hallucination, he pulled (Name) into a bone crushing hug and started sobbing into their shoulder. Standing there with them in his arms rekindled those feelings he always had for them. "I thought I lost you! How are you here? I saw you die..." Pulling back to stare at them he couldn't help but caress their face, enjoying the fact they were here.
"Dr. Stein was able to get me back to health. Your dad also had a hand in bringing me back. And I'm glad cause now I can finally do this." (Name) placed their hands on Kids face to pull him into a sweet kiss. Kid was shocked but melted into them. He had wanted to make the first move but this would work for him. Pulling back to stare at each other, "I love you Kid." The biggest smile stretched across both their faces. "Well I've got a confession too. I love you as well, always have." Both stood in Kids room embracing each other, finally able to be with each other. Even if it was from one of them dying.
