Ok so this is something that kind of popped into my mind when I was rewatching Star Trek Beyond. There are definitely spoilers...So be warned!

"By the way where are we going? I thought we were gonna get a drink?" asked Jim as he and Bones walked farther from the center of Yorktown.
With a smug smile, Bones shrugged and said, "I know you told me to keep it under wraps, but, uh…"
He was interrupted by a loud "Happy Birthday!" from the entire crew who seemed to have been waiting in the room that Jim was led to.
Jim was taken aback for a split second before he felt a twinge of anger. He thinks, "Why would Bones do something like this? He knows I hate celebrating on this day." However, as soon as he thinks this, he sees the expressions on his friend's faces and realizes that this is as much for them as it is for him. He smiles sheepishly and says, "Mr. Sensitive?" to Bones as he thinks, "He really does care, doesn't he?"
Scotty bustles up to the two of them and hands them a drink. "There you go, laddie" he says cheerfully even as he makes sure to keep Jaylah in sight.
"Thanks, Scotty," says Bones as he tips his glass at Scotty in thanks. He then says, "Everybody, raise a glass to Captain James T. Kirk." As he calls out this toast, he hesitates before saying Jim's name because he hopes that will force the damned fact that Jim deserves his captaincy just as much as his dad did into his idiotic brain.
"Captain Kirk!" everybody toasts.
"Thanks, everybody," says Jim as he acknowledges the toast. He toasts, "To the Enterprise and to absent friends."
Everybody cheers again and then they start to split up into groups to go chat and reminiscence. Spock and Uhura are left standing next to each other, and Uhura playfully asks Spock, "I thought you had to finish your mission report."
Spock acknowledges the statement with a brief nod and replies, "I do. But I thought it would be more pleasing to engage with you socially."
Uhura quirks a smile as she hears the promise hidden within the words. She can barely contain her happiness as she banters back, "You old romantic." Then she notices Bones staring at her necklace. She raises an eyebrow at him and he quickly turns away to sip more at his drink. Trying to take her mind off of the uncharacteristic action of Bones, she asks Spock, "So how were you able to find us?"
Cue several snorts from Chekov, Bones, Jim and Scotty, which garner the attention of the entire crew. Spock is silent for a few moments before he says, "I think that would be best left up to the discretion of the Captain. Now excuse me, I think that I may need to go and finish that mission report right now."
He hurriedly strides away from the silent crowd and he can hear Jim yell after him, "You backstabbing traitor! It's my birthday today! You can't do this to me!" But Spock pays it no mind, he'd rather risk Jim's anger then Uhura's any day. Even if Jim is his captain. It was only logical after all.
