The Fall

I do not own any of the following characters that are being used. This story is my first so there might be a few bumps in it. The story takes place a few months after Hanzo's and Genji's father dies. Tensions are rising between the two as Hanzo tries to convince his brother to help the clan while Genji doesn't want anything to do with him or the clan. I hope you enjoy!

Chapter one

After Genji's and Hanzo's father had passed away there seemed to be a distance between the brothers. Hanzo was always with the elders and the clan while Genji tried to distance himself by hanging out at the Hanamura arcade just outside the Clans doors. The brothers would meet occasionally at Breakfast and dinner, but rarely saw each other after that. The elders would constantly try to influence Hanzo on trying to get Genji to straighten out his little brother in hope to succeed in him finally helping the clan. Deep inside Hanzo grasped onto the hope that one day Genji might finally help the clan, even though he knew that it would never happen.

Days turned to week, weeks turned to months, as the brothers said nothing and stayed in silence. Until finally, Hanzo decided to break the ice.

"Genji, brother, can you just say one word to me that's all I ask. You haven't spoken to me in months maybe even a year."

Genji gave him a glare as if he were disgusted by his brother, "I have a few words for you, goodbye."

Genji got up saying nothing more and left. At that moment Hanzo's heart broke. He reached out for him, but Genji never looked back. Since then, Hanzo repeatedly has tried to reach out to Genji. Day after Day this process was repeated, and every day had the same outcome.

Hanzo finally got up, it seemed to be in the morning around 5-ish. He got dressed, combed his hair, and got on with his day. He ate breakfast in silence as usual.

"Brother, I think we got of on the wrong foot."

Genji shifted his focus to his brother putting down his spoon, the sound of the spoon clanking filled the room. Silence fell upon them.

"What do you mean brother? "Sarcasm filled his voice.

"Together we can rule this clan. It would make father so proud of not me but you!"

"I'd prefer not."

"But, what do you mean, this clan could grant us a whole empire with yourself by my side, nothing could stand in our way it what father would have wanted."

"He wanted that for you he knew I was a disappointment the second I left training to go to the arcade across the street."

"He never said such thing."

"Yes he did, and don't think I don't know you here because the elders told you to do so."

"Brother I did this because I miss you."

"I miss you as well." Genji's voice trailed off. Tears swelled both brothers eyes.. Genji continued. "Dad had high hopes for you, i'm a disappointment. I know I'm a disappointment. I don't find pleasure going against the law like yourself."

"But Genji, we can change that, together.-"

"No!." Genji's voice was louder than he expected startling both of the two boys. "Don't you see! We don't need to follow what dad has put out in front of us. Instead we can make our own path. I know, I am never going to join the clan or follow your ways. Whether you like it or not!"

Hanzo was fed up wit his little brother. "Well maybe da was right, maybe you are a disappointment." He looked over seeing is hurt brothers face. "No, I didn't mean it like that.-" It was too late, Genji was gone. Sadness fell over the brother knowing he just lost his brother forever.
