This didn't look right. Didn't FEEL right. Phineas Bogg had gotten the dates wrong before, but this was
different. Yes, the colors of the cosmos were still red, green, blue and orange. He was flying as usual.
Then, he was falling and NOT landing. The falling was a little longer than normal.
Finally, he landed with a thud on a small balcony. It was windy as he tried to stand up. Phineas kept
hold of his book and used it to smash a window. With much effort, due to fighting with the wind, he
climbed into the bedroom.
"Bat's breath!" he moaned out loud. "That coulda killed me!" he said as he looked once more out the
window.
Phineas finally steadied his feet and turned to face a small boy with dark curly hair and a big dog that
was growling at him.
"Wait a minute! This isn't fourteen ninety-two " he gasped.
"Where's Columbus, kid? WHERE AM I??" Phineas demanded.
What's going on here, Phineas thought. He was getting frustrated because the kid wasn't answering his
questions, just standing there with his mouth gaped open.
Suddenly, the huge furry animal growled and leaped at Bogg, grabbing for his book.
He thought he heard the kid holler, "RALPH!"
The boy grabbed hold of the dog as Phineas wrestled with his book.
"C'mon, Ralph! Let go!"
All of a sudden, the boy was falling out the window!
"Bat's breath!" Bogg muttered under his breath as he jumped after the boy...
And, as they say:
THE REST IS HISTORY!!
