"Father, what does love mean?" asked four year old Neji
"Well son I'm glad you asked, love is when you really like someone very much." said Hizashi
"Like when you used to say it to mother everyday?" Neji said innocently
"Yeah like with your mother" Hizashi responded

"NEJI!" yelled Tenten
"H-Huh.. What?" said the startled daydreamer

" Are you ok?" asked Tenten concerned
"Nothing just remembered a time when my father…. Ugh nevermind."
"No, Tell me I'm listening"

"I was thinking about the time my father and I were talking about the meaning of love"

"Now I finally realized what he was trying to tell him"

"It's always been you since the day we met. I am in love with you now more than ever" Neji said as he stared in his girlfriend's eyes
"N-Neji"
"Which is why I want you to promise me something" asked Neji with a serious tone

"Tenten If I were to die, I want you to take care of Lee and Hinata for me"

"Tenten PLEASE" yelled the now emotional teen
"Ok, I-I'll do it if it something you really want me to do" Tenten said with a sad tone

That night they would spend together unaware of the incoming darkness emerging from the horizon.
Soon after that Neji died protecting his precious cousin, hinata.
Tenten would fulfill her love's last wish and protect both people they loved the most. She would retire and go on to become a weapons shop owner, marries Lee, and have a son named Ryuji.
Even years after his death, she never once forgotten the times they spend together.
