Chapter 1

Later that night after Lorelai's graduation the girls get home from dinner and Rory is upstairs in Lorelai's room whenshe finds a black box on Lorelai's dresser she opens it Lorelai walks into the room

''hey mom what's this?'' Rory asks

''oh you found it''Lorelai says and is standing behind Rory now ''it's nothing just close it and put it down''

''where did you get this?'' Rory asks ''who gave this to you?'' Rory asks her again ''why did you get this it's beautiful it almost looks real'' Rory says

''it better look very real because it is'' Lorelai says

'' did Luke get this for you I didn't know he had that kind of money and was into you like that?'' Rory says

''hunnie no please stop your father sent it to me'' Lorelai says

''My father?'' Rory asks and is looking at her with a huge question mark on her face ''since when are you talking to dad I mean you really haven't talked to him since I fractured my wrist is there something going on between two are you two an item now?'' Rory asks her

''No and it came to the inn in a basket with a whole bunch of other stuff for my graduation he called the inn today and we talked and he told me that he thinks I'm awesome in the way I am raising you and wanted to call to tell me to have a great night and no there's nothing going on between us we are just friends that's it'' Lorelai tells her

''just friends does this say just friends to you?'' Rory asks and keeps looking at the necklace

''hunnie stop please I don't want you getting yourself all worked up over this ok?'' Lorelai says

''do you love him?'' Rory asks her

''honestly I will always love him he will always be in our lives and you know that babe!'' Lorelai says and just looks at Rory straight in the eyes

Rory closes the box and puts it back on the dresser and looks up at Lorelai

''ok I think I'm going to go to bed now'' Rory says

''ok night hun sleep tight'' Lorelai says

''night'' she gives Lorelai a kiss on the cheek and leaves the room and goes downstairs to her room

Lorelai takes the box and puts it away and out of sight then gets ready for bed and gets into bed turns off the light and goes to sleep
