Chap. 1

" OI LUCY!" Natsu called from across the guild hall, smirking when the blond Mage looked up, he waved the quest flyer in the air before approaching her.

Her answering smile made his heart jerk. He had liked Lucy for... Well... Since a few days after their first quest. However, he had only just admitted that to himself as of two months ago, when he had tried to tell her.

She had shown up in a new dress, completely beautiful... And being the proud and powerful dragon slayer he was... He chickened out and got slapped for it. Happy was of no help at all, just flapping around Lucy telling her that they "llliked" each other.

But today that was gonna change. Today he would make his move, she would fall head over heels in love with him, and they would get married and have thirty babies... Or something like that...

He had found the perfect quest! Some rich dude was offering 70,000,00 jewels, to come get rid of some dark wizards terrorizing his beach resort. He would get to bash in a few heads, she would get to see it, then they would spend a few days unwinding while he admitted his feelings.

He pushed his way through the crowded hall and was almost to Lucy when... " Natsu!" Great. Lissanna...

"Hey lissanna !" He smiled, eyes darting over to Lucy, who was having a conversation with Levvy and cuddling plue.

"Natsu Mira-nee told me to give you this" she shook the gift wrapped box at him.

He blinked at it "what's in it?"

She handed it to him and winked before skipping away lightly.

He tucked the box into his vest and ran a hand through his hair before finally approaching Lucy

"Hey Luce, I found this quest on the board, check it out!" She took the paper, fingers briefly brushing against his, and he tried to hide his blush.

Her eyes went wide as she read the flyer, "this is perfect Natsu! I'll go tell Erza and Gray!"

Natsu grabbed her arm as she turned to leave "NO! I-I mean... Why don't we do this one ourselves".

Lucy looked down at the flyer, and looked back at him... "Oh... Ok... Sure!" He smirked, then pulled her into himself in a bone crushing hug, forgetting himself for a moment, then releasing her he ran off to pack. Leaving her with a blush and a dazed expression. "He lllllikes you!" Crowed happy from one of the nearby tables.

Lucy's blush darkened and she walked home, wondering why he didn't want Gray and Erza along.
