Yeah... I started a new story. But that's because I watched one of the OVAs of Harukanaru today, and I totally fell in love with it and all the characters again. :) And yeah, I know, this first little thingy is extremely short, but that's all I could muster tonight with this stubborn exhaustion of mine... I started work two weeks ago, and I'm still not used to it, so... there you have it. We'll see when I have more, but there will be more 'cause I really love Eisen. Sorry it's so short. (sweat-drops)
Disclaimer: I do not own Harukanaru toki no naka de, and I absolutely don't own these lovely characters, I just simply wish to borrow them for a while. As a tribute to one of my favorite stories of all time.
Prologue
"Are you sure this is alright?"
The question came out as a thin whisper, delicate with a sprinkle of insecurity, but still so incredibly tender and passionate. She could not believe that she had not noticed before. All these months they had spent together, side by side, searching for the seals… and she had never seen him as more than a friend, one of the Hachiyou. A mischievous smile temporarily played on her lips as she thought of the other seven and their looks if they could have seen the two of them now. How shocked they would be! Although she had not wanted to realise it, she eventually had to admit to herself that all eight of them were in love with her to some degree – and all in their own personal ways. How would the others react if they knew that she had chosen her lover now – and that she had chosen someone else instead of them?
She gently caressed his smooth face and looked deep into his intelligent, experienced, yet somehow sad eyes – eyes that she had come to love desperately. If everything shattered in the world, she would be all right as long as she could look into those eyes. "Yes," she said with conviction. "It's alright. We are allowed to love, Eisen. It may take a while for the others to understand and accept it, but nobody can say that it's not okay."
His eyes fluttered for a bit. "But what about my priesthood…?" he began, worried.
She laughed. "Do you really want to be a priest anymore?"
