I told you this would happen. You never were one to listen. From the very beginning you had it all figured out, didn't you? To have equality for all, except for one. The anomaly in the system you said was required in our grand equation.

Humans.

If anything I'd have called them your pet project. Of all the creation I witnessed you partake in, humans were in a class of their own in multiple ways. I suppose it would be in a god's nature to be creative. I can attest to a few sculptures of my own, but it seemed your prized piece of art was the opposite of most. Your centerpiece was a canvas that painted itself and its message was lost in my translation.

They were the only ones whose evolution spanned generations. You had to have known and planned for their limitless capacity for growth. Starting them off so poorly did not abolish the eventuality of what they could become. Every other creature births its first stage of evolution from their eggs. This cycle places a ceiling on how much of a parent's effort is reaped from their offspring. Beyond what specialties a parent may have acquired, there is a physical and mental limit to what their child receives. For humans only half of this is the case. Physically they are reduced to their lowest form and slowly grow in stages yet mentally they have the potential to reap all of the understanding of their forefathers and build upon it. Even then their physical evolution is in a method of their own.

One has to wonder how they came to lead the pack after such a tremendous handicap to start. They have no personal forms of defense, no natural weapons, no sense of speed, no fire, no lightning, not a single method of elemental attack in fact. Yet not only did humans survive from the dangers of their kin, they're now in the position to control members of what used to be their greatest threat. Hard to believe an amount of 'divine guidance' didn't come into play to ensure the outcome.

You called them the purest embodiment of the rules. I could see none they adhered to. More often than not they sought to break any they could. Boundaries never seem to have come into play for them. Once survival became less and less of a challenge they looked for the rules. Could nature bend to their will? Could designated dangers be manipulated to work for them? What are the limits of our reality? What started as small settlements gave way to thriving towns; nature pushed out by human claim. The more they thought they grasped, the more they reached for. The only rule a constant is the way rules fell before them.

However; you had your realm and I had mine, so I respected your ruling and maintained the governance of my own.

Humans were the ones who saw fit to disrupt the balance.

Our worlds were to be separate but equal. For there to be a cycle, this single law had to be upheld. Yours was to be a realm of life and light; mine was to be a realm of aether and shadow. Life and death entwined in unity.

Unfortunately, but for who is up for debate, you made a creature that could feel death while alive. An oversight on your part and no matter on my part until this time. You've made a habit of stressing the difference between potential and actuality and the fact of the matter is my realm has entered yours. This is no longer a potential issue and my jurisdiction has been extended to resolve this open door to my realm. As much as I regret to do so, I have to destroy the key.

The equation must be fixed, Arceus. It will be fixed.

The key to Shadow will be purged from the Realm of Aura.
