"Please?" she asked, her slender fingers entwining the ribbon on her stuffed bear, not daring to leave her eyes from the floor.

"Sure." He answered that genuine smile he only gave her playing upon his lips.

The two teens walked down the dark hall, her gripping his arm, him trying not to wince, yet still loving how close they were. The lightning struck again, illuminating the once dark hallway – an "Eek" and 'BOOM' were heard once the darkness returned. The poor girl was so scared she had her face hidden in the crook of her best friend's neck. He took this as an advantage, bent down and kissed her lightly upon her forehead.

Everything will be alright," he said, his strong voice merely a whisper. She nodded into his neck, and wrapped her arms around his toned shoulders, her fingers still griping the plush figure. He knew what she was intending and slowly bent down playing one arm under her knees, the other behind her back – cradling her as he ventured on to their destination.

Once they reached the front room, he laid her upon the sofa, and went to make them some hot cocoa. The girl sat up once he walked away, bringing her knees up to her chest. She thought about him more and more these days, and she was starting to speculate telling him how she felt, but his re-entry shook her thoughts away, leaving her in reality.

"Here ya go, Star." He said handing her the warm mug. She cautiously took it, and when he sat beside her, he slowly put his arm around her. She leaned up towards his masked eyes, and lightly kissed him upon his cheek.

"Thank you," she cooed, "for everything."

His face, not a bright red, lit up into a smile, as he thought, "Make sure there's cocoa mix in the cabinets for the next lightning storm."
