I don't own anything. This is based off of an April fools joke my friend
pulled on me that went wrong.
It was late afternoon. Kenshin was keeping Sanosuke's mind off of a nightmare he had about running out of food. Kaoru was sitting on the porch watching as Yahiko ran around making a fool of himself infront of Tsubame, who was standing by the gate. Everything was normal. Well, almost normal.
Kaoru had an idea to keep the guys on their toes.
She put one of her hands on her stomach and moaned very softly. The sound
got Kenshin's attention. He looked over at Kaoru to see if he could see
anything.
She didn't look like she was in pain. Curious, he got up from his spot, and sat next to Kaoru. Kaoru mentally smiled and placed her other hand on her stomach. Kenshin looked a little worried now. He leaned over and whispered,
"Is something wrong?"
Kaoru looked at Kenshin. Now she couldn't resist. "Oh, I'm just worried
about Kenji," She said, as she made up the name quickly. Kenshin looked really confused now. "Who is Kenji?" He asked. He had never heard of this guy. Maybe it was a kid that miss Kaoru had seen, or maybe a poor man who was walking the streets looking for food for his family. "Oh, he is some guy who said that he would give me enough money to live off of if I graced
his bed," Kaoru lied. Kenshin looked as if he would kill anyone now.
Kenshin felt his heart sink. Had Kaoru, his Kaoru slept with another man? No, she wouldn't. She couldn't. Maybe, she needed to be fore filled, and he had been too busy to do it. "Why are you worried about him for?" Kenshin asked. His tone changed into an almost harsh tone. Kaoru noticed this and tried to turn it around so that he wouldn't leave her. "Um, it's just that I haven't seen him since that night, and I think that I might just be.." She stopped. Kenshin was staring at her with eyes that seemed to reflect
hurt.
Kenshin thought about it for a moment. Some guy slept with Miss Kaoru. She hasn't seen him since. Kaoru is pregnant. The father isn't around to care for the child. The child needs a father. Kaoru needs someone to take care of her. It seemed both wrong and right at the same time. 'Of course if it
were my child, it would be perfect,' Kenshin thought.
Kaoru couldn't believe that she had told the world's biggest lie within less then a minute. She knew she would get hell for this, but she couldn't help it. She would just turn to Kenshin and tell him the truth. There was no guy named Kenji, she hadn't slept with anyone, and she wasn't pregnant.
She looked at Kenshin. He seemed to be thinking.
After a moment, Kenshin came up with a plan that would keep Kaoru from looking like a whore. He would tell her tonight. He got up and walked over to Sano to keep him from going into the kitchen. He had a lot of planning
to do, and very little time to do it.
Early the next morning, Kenshin made sure that Sanosuke took Yahiko with him. Sano took the kid with some kind of idea in mind. Yahiko was just glad to get a way from practice. They left saying that they were going fishing,
but Kenshin knew better, they would come home drunk after a long day of
gambling. That was the truth, no time to deny it.
Kenshin woke Kaoru up telling her that they had to go somewhere important. Kaoru got dressed in one of her lovely kimonos that, was colored white with light cherry blossoms all over it. Kenshin smiled as the walked over to the
next town. He couldn't believe that he was going to do this.
