AN: Set just after the mission 11 Mandek's Cave.
Adara landed and Cael's nose and smiled as she looked down on the devastation that lay beneath them. The once busy port of the orc fleet and the main transport hub of all Zeenium in Xeen was now nothing more than wreckage and smouldering ruins.
The towers that had once defended the port were no more, the airships that had once dotted the skies were now lying smashed into the ground or littering the seas around them while the ships that kept the Zeenium flowing to the rest of the Orc Empire were now nothing more than submerged, burnt out wrecks. And the cherry on the cake was the sight of General Mandek's personal treasure ship laying broken backed on the shores of a nearby island, it's cargo spread out over the sand.
"Hah! Now that's a beautiful sight, is it not Cael?" Adara said with a cry of triumph. "All those orc ships and buildings and property in ruins. Can you imagine the look on Mandek's fat face when he hears about this?"
Cael hovered, saying nothing, his eyes busy scanning the sea below. Adara however didn't notice and kept on talking.
"We'll catch up with that coward soon enough, don't you fret," she continued in a victorious tone. "I'll bet he'll be back eventually with as many orcs as he can muster," her eyes glittered darkly with amusement. "We've got his gold."
Cael merely twitched his head and Adara looked at him with disbelief.
"Come on Cael, I said we've got his gold. As in, shiny, valuable gold that he uses to pay for the repairs and rebuilding of all that you destroyed!" she pointed out, stamping her foot down on his nose and folding her arms.
Cael twitched his head once more and suddenly dived straight at the water, sending Adara tumbling and flailing wildly across his back to end up hovering above him as he splashed into the ocean below.
"Cael?" she asked worriedly as concern crossed her face. "What the hell?"
There was a splash and Cael emerged from the depths with a large fish in his mouth. With a couple of swift, jerky movements, he quickly swallowed the fish.
"Delicious," he said licking his lips. Adara glared at him, but he ignored her. "Cows may taste good, but the one thing I've missed, really missed, is the taste of fresh fish. Simply wonderful."
"Hmph! You could have told me what you were going to do you know!" she snapped at him and Cael chuckled.
"Didn't want to spoil your fun," he replied in a deadpan and Adara glared at him once more. He ignored her and simply dived into the water once more.
