Dear Hermione Granger:
Hands down, you are my favorite
character in the Harry Potter books.
You're kind, caring, loyal, practical,
not to mention super-smart.
You've always been my favorite character,
ever since you appeared at the door of Harry and Ron's compartment,
wondering if they had seen a toad.
What they would have done without you is anybody's guess,
but I'd wager that they wouldn't have survived first year.
How you dealt with all that has hit you has made me admire you more.
Hermione, you're my hero,
of that I'm sure.
How you are willing to use whatever resources you have to
figure out what is going on and,
protect your friends and yourself
Amazes me.
You never give up.
You do that a lot, put clues together,
clues that most don't even think are worth consideration.
The Basilisk, Professor Lupin, Rita Skeeter.
It amazes me how every time you figure things out before anyone else.
How did you mange to use the time-turner all year long
and not get caught, or collapse from exhaustion?
How do you deal with Harry and Ron?
I think I'll ponder those forever.
