Hello fanfiction world!
I have been on this site for a while (years longer as just a guest and only recently I made an account) so I have no stories to my name.
I write my own original work, but I have hit severe writer's block, so, what better way to cure it (eventually) than by doing an SYOC?
This will be a Percy Jackson SYOC set before the events of Percy and his Misadventures. I began rereading the stories and I wondered what camp was like for the campers before. I remembered the Hydra head from Woodstock 1969 and all that other junk in the attic. What stories could have been behind those?
I'm not really sure if this should be a full-length novel or a collection of short stories about your submitted characters. You can leave that in the comments (and by "should", I mean PLEASE).
Now, since 's got this huge stick up their butt about "interactive stories", the form will be on my profile, but the rules on here:
1) No Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus! I get that there will always be that one powerful character with a tragic backstory and flawless looks (Leo, anyone?) but it's overdone and not realistic.
2) If there's only one flaw, you're doing it wrong.
3) Give me a badass, a flirt, the self-righteous douchebag, the innocent too good for this world.
4) I've always been curious about the half-bloods who were nothing like their parents (a kid of Ares who's a pacifist, a kid of Demeter who has a touch of death, a kid of Hypnos who's an insomniac, whatever. Give 'em to me!)
5) This very well may be set in the 60s or 70s so certain prejudices are a must. Not everyone was tolerant of everyone so if your character is white and upper-middle to 1 percenters, odds are you aren't tolerant. Of race or sexuality. Be realistic.
6) I need girls and boys. Don't lean too heavily to another side. Be diverse as well (save the blonde and light eyes to the cabins that are more than likely to have them).
7) If you read the rules, have DAM BRIDGE somewhere in the form.
8) Only submit form via review if you don't have an account.
9) OK, I might slide with maybe one really good (not totally cliched) so don't everyone scream at once.
10) Have fun!
