this is a one-shot i wrote for fun. yea and excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes i might have. anyway the characters belong to JKR and the plot idea came from this Paul Jennings book. i just changed it a bit. anyway hope you like it and check out my other story too. I didn't know if Albus' plan was going to work out. The only thing I knew was that it was going to hurt me. Albus had mixed veritaserum into Rose's drink and we were to 'interrogate' her.
It was Albus' idea. He wanted to know who Rose liked as she had been aloof for the past few days. That was the conclusion he had drawn up from her behavior. Albus managed to convince me too. Now, I was regretting it as I saw Rose's scowl.
Albus was trying to calm her down and was apologizing.
'Rose! Just answer the questions… And I promise I'll leave you alone from now on… Please?'
'Fine, Albus… But if you try anything else, I swear I'll hex the both of you!' she said, her eyes blazing.
We knew she wasn't joking.
'Ahem. Rose, do you like any boy in Hogwarts?' Albus asked.
'Albus! That's… personal! Nuh-Yes.'
'Then, who-'
'Don't you dare ask me that!' she said, her hands on her wand.
That made Albus shut up. I didn't want to know either. I was already hurt. I hoped my face wasn't showing any emotions. I just wanted to scream and shout at that time. No one knew about this long time crush I have for her. It was 7 whole years and I still hadn't told Rose about my feelings.
'Scorpius!'
'Huh? Oh. What?'
'Think of some question.'
'Why?'
'Just think will you!' Albus almost shouted.
I looked around. Weirdly, there seemed to be only one thing on my mind… eyes?
'Umm… what colour is his eyes?'
'Way to go, Scor. That helps, a lot.'
I shrugged.
'Bl-Gr- Argh! GREY!'
I turned to Albus. He was smirking.
'Al. Who has grey eyes? I don't know anyone with grey eyes…'
'Oh, really? Well… everyone else does…' He said, still smirking.
That's when realization dawned on me. My face felt hot and I could see that Rose was blushing and looking at her feet. Albus was snickering and I turned and glared at him.
'What!? Now you know that you like each other. Don't think I don't know, Scorp.'
Had I been that obvious? I looked at Rose who was staring at me with a sort of surprised look.
OK. Maybe not obvious enough for Rose…
'Scorpius.'
It was Rose.
'Umm…yes?'
'Al just left.' She said then got up. 'Oh, and… nevermind.'
I just nodded.
WHAT!?
I can't believe I didn't say anything. Rose hadn't left the room yet. She was at the doorway.
'Uh… Rose?'
She turned.
'Yeah?'
I walked towards her. She looked at me blankly.
'What, Scorp-'
My lips descended on hers. It was perfect. I pulled away and gazed into her beautiful eyes and said,
'I love you, Rose.'
'I love you, Scorpius.'
She rested her head on my chest and I held her like that. We didn't notice the time passing by. It was just… perfect.
Maybe, just maybe, Albus' ideas were not as crazy as they seemed to be.
