This idea popped into my head just now and I quickly wrote it down. Thought I'd like to share it with you.
Mana looked around in the throne room. She saw many familiar faces around her. Seto, the newly-made Pharaoh was sitting on the throne itself with the millennium puzzle around his neck and the millennium rod in his right hand. Mana couldn't help but agree that findidng a new guardian for the millennium rod was pointless. The rod had chosen Seto as its wielder long ago and there was no need to change that, it was not forbidden to have more than one item.
Then there was Isis. She was standing beside the throne. She had her millennium necklace around her neck. Mana was glad that she had come back from the shadow realm, all those who had been sent there in the battle against Zorc the dark one were back.
Karim and Shada were there too, both of them back to normal and with their items in their hands. And Shimon was standing on his usual spot beside the throne.
Now there was only one missing, Mana thought sadly. But he would never return to this room, she knew, though he would remain a servant to the Pharaoh for all eternity. The comfort she had in this matter was that her tutor was not dead and never would be, though sadly he would not join her in the afterlife.
Mana felt the nervous butterflies fly around in circles in her stomach. She wasn't the type to get nervous like this but today was a big day for her, today she would be named a guardian, a Priestess.
"Mana, please step forth". Seto's voice echoed through the entire room, making Mana shiver with nerves.
Slowly, and with as much dignity as she was able, she walked over to the throne. Seto rose from his big golden chair and walked over to a small table where a golden item was placed, a millennium item to be precise, the millennium ring.
"Kneel".
Mana did as she was told and got down on one knee. She could feel the goosebumps on her skin. The shivering increased when she felt something being placed around her neck. The metal felt cold and unfamiliar against her chest and for a moment she thought that she would lose her head for sure because of the new weight placed upon her. But somehow she managed to stay still and calm.
"Rise, Priestess Mana, guardian of the millennium ring," Seto ordered and Mana felt herself getting back up on both her legs. She looked at her Pharaoh, though she did not meet his gaze, and she saw him smile.
Knowing what to do she headed past him and went to stand next to the other guardians. She looked at Isis that was standing next to her. Isis looked back at the new priestess and they exchanged smiles.
"Mahad would have been so proud of you, Mana," the priestess of the necklace whispered.
Mana nodded. She really wished that her master could have been with them and see her recieve her item and become his sucessor. She promised herself that she would not let him down, she would do her best do be a good spellcaster like Mahad had been.
"I will make you proud," she vowed in a whisper. She would prove herself a worthy sucessor of Mahad. "Watch me, master".
