Final Farewell...
(A/N: This has to be the shortest fic I've ever written. I got the idea after playing FFT too much and drawing all the female job classes way too often.)
Disclamer: All characters Square owns... Even Ramza... ::sighs and huggles Ramza plushie::
You're probably off in another world somewhere, enjoying a peaceful time with your sister. She managed to save us all in the battle, just like how you saved us many times before. We all trusted you, followed you, and believed in you even when the tides were against us. What did we get from it? Nothing. Nothing but peace and the knowledge of the truth.
All our comrades left to live out their lives in secrecy; some ever went off to forests and new regions to start their new life. Me? I'm just a commoner with no name and no identity. No one looks at me and sees one of the "heretics." No, I just live a simple life, but even though I'm happy, I am not content.
Over the years of war and conspiracy, we all began to see and know you for who you really were. There was never a wall around you. Always honest. That's the least I can say about you, but over the time, I grew more respect for you, and I began to admire you. I never thought twice about fighting along side you and I would have gladly given up my life to protect the team and you. Mostly for you.
Crystal could probably see the look in my eyes when I stared at you or listened to you talk. She never said a word about it to anyone, but I knew that she had noticed. It didn't matter though. We still fought bravely for the right cause, but even then, I was partially fighting for you.
It was all in vain, wasn't it? Fighting and feeling for you, knowing that I would get nothing in return. Now what? You're gone. Off into another world, spending all your time with your sister. I was happy when you two were reunited, but I was still envious. Not even I could get, as close to you as she could, for you never noticed me. You never noticed the look in my eyes…
I didn't come for this. I came to pay my respects at your sister's grave, for I know your soul lies with her. I did not come to say all this or babble about old times. I never meant to talk about my… feelings either.
Oh, damn it all, Ramza! Why?! Why did you not even look my way? I never got to tell you how I felt… I never got to say goodbye…
… Heh… Great, tears… I even cry for you and I cry to release my stress. Even the weather supports my mood. The world's crying for you… Even God is crying for you, Ramza. We all knew you did the right thing. We all know that you're the true hero of this hard and terrible war. Heretic or not, you saved us all. You saved me…
A storm is coming quickly, so I must make haste. I leave a bouquet of flowers for Alma, and I leave a kiss for you. I wish you luck, and I bid you farewell. Goodbye, Ramza…
Darkened nights, Lighter days
Moon rises, Sun Fades
Crystals falling, Diamond sky
Hell below, Heaven high
Body shattered, Soul departed
Lost memory, Broken hearted
Feared darkness, Sealed light
Paths seperated, Church's plight
Darkened moments, Lighter days
Eternal goodbye, Love stays...
May God smile upon your soul…
(A/N: So what did ya think? Like I said, this was short, but I personally like it a lot. The nonimportant characters don't get enough credit :P I even write the poem the second time when I drew this character's job class [which is a preist]. Well, please leave your reviews!)
