This story is dedicated to my friend Aya-of-the-night for reminding me that I should write another story, inspiring me to write this chapter, and for being awesome!
Chapter 1: Quills and Ink and Parchment
Hermione was in the library. When was she ever not? Being Hermione, she took out a potions essay and started to work. Picking up her quill, she began to write her potions essay. Oh no! A single letter was smudged as she pressed the tiniest bit too hard onto the paper. She sighed, another potions essay ruined. Years at Hogwarts - and she still disliked these cursed quills. (Not hate - hate was too strong of an adjective.) Why quills and ink and parchment? Why couldn't they just use this magical (figuratively) invention of the muggles - pen and pencils and paper? Honestly, sure there were magical (literally) quills like the Quick Quotes quill, but that was only as good as its enchantments - and the feelings of the writer (but of course, Hermione would never turn in a paper with anything but the facts!). Not to mention, Anti-Cheating Quills and Auto-Answer Quills were simply for the lazy - and she was anything but lazy.
She sighed. She missed the practicality of pens and pencils and paper - and her pencil case. Oh how she absolutely adored that light purple pencil case shaped in the form of a cylinder, doodles of rectangles and smiley faces filling the blank purple spaces in black pen, it was a lifeline to the most useful things she owned. There was, of course, #2 pencils and pens along with multicolored erasers (in the slightest chance that she, heaven forbid, make the tiniest mistake on any of her essays). Then there were sticky notes to write herself reminders, just in case she would ever forget something (especially Cheering Charms! she couldn't wait to learn those in preparation for her exams!). And of course, there was the...
She gasped.
Oh.
My.
Goodness.
(It was beneath the great Hermione Granger to call on a higher deity - especially for something as trivial as this!)
How could she have forgotten! She had to get back to her precious pencil case ASAP! But of course, the great Hermione Granger is never without an plan when it comes to important matters! She quickly ran out of the library to put the first step of her (brilliant) plan into action.
Author's Note: My second story! :) So, how was it? Please review! I'm going to try to make this one multi-chaptered - I don't have much time, sorry, so the chapters will be very short though! I love writing these - it's so fun to write from a nerd's POV!
